He has a contract loaded with incentives, making his base salary under 1mil. I say absolutely, hes 28, will be cheap and has tremendous upside.
Isn't Lavar Arrington the gay actor that was in Star Track or something? I say no. Where is my Slapshot quote? I can not cut and paste on this Computer Terminal and no way in hell am I writing it out.
LaVar Arrington said Monday, after being cut, that he may retire. Arrington has undergone two knee surgeries and an Achilles' surgery in the last three years, a span in which he's appeared in only 23 games.
dude, how was he a cancer? he was nothing but respectful in NY and he was good in washington until Greg Williams started talking crap about him and Arrington just wanted to leave there. the man is good when healthy and could be a perfect fit in a 3-4. his last injury was a freak accident that should never have happened. he was just coming around and getting used to the D until he got injured. if the Tangini combo is smart enough to sign him to a contract like the Giants did with him, it could be a great pick up for you guys. LaVar only made 900K this year as a Giant
You can tell its the offseason. Every player that gets released becomes the subject of a thread as being the perfect fit for the Jets. As for Arrington - no thanks for two reasons 1. His free lance style does not fit Mangini's defense at all 2. Been there done that with Sam Cowart. No way the Jets will or should sign another LB coming off an achilles injury. As for Petigout, why???? Where would he play????
If Mangini feels he wouldn't take away from the team spirit/chemistry that is developing and if the price is right I wouldn't mind giving him a shot as a 3rd down pass rushing specialist. Low-Risk High-Reward never bothered me.
The last time the Jets signed a LB after tearing his achillies was Sam Cowart, I think we all remember how that turned out.
