Will be interesting to see what moves we make today. Kicker will have to be signed and most likely Dee will be activated as well. Folk could be IR'd if he's gonna miss 4-6 weeks anyway. It's not worth carrying him that long on the roster just to get him back for a week. Another guy would have to be released, probably a defensive lineman. My money would be on Stephen Bowen.
DB's are safe I think. Pryor is out, Bailey is out. That leaves us with Gilchrist & Rontez at safety. Cromartie is banged up but I'd imagine he'll be good to go. We're gonna need all the backup DB's that we have right now. Wouldn't mind putting Cro on IR but we all know that's not going to happen unfortunately. I just hope Bowles doesn't cut another young talent, like TJ Barnes.
Yea no way we cut Milez we are super thin at S now if we put Cro on IR I'll run naked all around my apartment
^^ & ^ You could be right but I don't know that we need 11 db's. Miles looked unready for prime time IMO. Got to go with Marcus at S if needed over Miles.
Rontez looked like crap but he's our only other true safety. Maybe we'll call up Martin from the practice squad. Right now for this game we'd have 8 DB's. 9 if you add Dee. Only 2 safeties. 4 with the 2 tweeners. - S Gilchrist - S Miles - CB Revis - CB Cromartie - CB Skrine - S/CB Williams - CB McDougle - S/CB Walls - CB Milliner
Do we know Pryor and Dion are out? I'm thinking at least one of them play. If they are out, I can see how this needs to be factored into the decision in case of injury to Gilchrist or Marcus (may this never happen). What if one of them can play? Does this change your thinking? What if they both can play?
Well, assuming they are both out, and the situation depicted as you guys have done well, I guess I'll have to change my cut to Bowens. Who else could it be? Ridley?
Not sure if it's official yet but Bowles said it'll take a while before Pryor is good to go. Dion has a high ankle sprain so odds are he's out as well, this being a short week. If they're healthy then I'd probably cut Miles & Bowen (or Walls) and then sign a kicker and activate Dee.
I think Ridley is a lock. Stacy might be in trouble. Powell could be headed to IR if his injury is something that is going to keep him out multiple weeks. He's been banged up the entire year it seems and I'm not sure you wanna carry around 4 backs. Bohanon is another guy that we could do without. He's getting 10-20 snaps per game. Kellen Davis can do his job, he's been lining up in the backfield as a lead blocker and he can't possibly be any worse than Bohanon.
Folk shouldn't get too comfortable. What I mean is, he shouldn't open up any new loans or buy a new house. Bullock is still only 25, he's likely cheaper and he can actually kick the ball out of the end zone. If Bullock makes close to 80% of his kicks (the mark Folk is at), which shouldn't be too hard as he's a career 80% er, then next offseason it will be really easy for the FO to let Folk loose. His time here could be done
I think one earns the right to a workout with a portfolio of kicks. Maybe he should have something documented during his own practices about being able to make a 60 yarder 1/2 the time or something. Just complaining isn't going to open doors.
Jonas Gray released by the Dolphins. Maybe the Jets should take a look? (I would take him over Stacy.)
