If his agent says so. I'll check him out if we do sign him, don't want to waste my time on a former Dolphin if he's not signed.
Here's a rundown of what the guys recovering from injuries did: • Wide receiver Jeremy Kerley (concussion): He caught passes in a position drill. He was not wearing a red (non-contact) jersey. He had his helmet and shoulder pads on. It looks like he's been cleared to fully practice, by the NFL's post-concussion assessment protocol. • Outside linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin (knee sprain): The rookie also got position drill work Monday, and pushed a blocking sled around. Like Kerley, it was unclear, as of Thursday's preseason finale against the Eagles, if Mauldin would be ready for the opener. It seems there's now a decent chance he might be. • Inside linebacker Erin Henderson (MCL sprain): The backup got hurt in the Aug. 13 preseason opener at Detroit. He's been working his way back from the knee injury ever since. He also got position drill work Monday, while wearing a helmet and shoulder pads — just like Mauldin and the rest of the Jets did. • Wide receiver Devin Smith (broken ribs): Jets coach Todd Bowles has said he doesn't expect the rookie to play against the Browns. But for what it's worth, Smith got position drill work Monday, and caught passes. He wasn't in a red jersey during the portion of practice that was open to reporters. • Defensive end Leonard Williams (knee muscle strain): He insisted that he'd be ready for the opener, and it continues to look like he will be. • Outside linebacker Calvin Pace (groin strain): Bowles has said Pace will be able to play against the Browns. Pace looked fine, and ready to go, on Monday.
I didn't see this mentioned above. Jets QB Geno Smith (broken jaw) is participating in positional drills in Monday's practice. Smith is still unlikely to play Week 1, but this is confirmation his recovery from a broken jaw is moving more quickly than originally expected. He could be well enough for backup work prior to the Week 5 bye.
lol right ... anyway, we need all the help we can get at the guard position. He was un-drafted this year.
Just the publicity we needed. "Jets Quarterback threatens to sue unemployed man for money he owes him." At least he's saying the right things. Move on.
Maybe it's just the angle or whatever but it LOOKS like Geno has been eating through a straw. Anyone else think he looks really thin?
He does look skinny now, look at him at the beginning of camp he had muscles. Or maybe it's the angle of the pic.
Bowles just commented on Rontez/Martin. Miles was one of the most improved players, but he still needs to work on some things. Said he would love to work with him on certain things and develop him. Martin is more of a FS, showed good awareness in Seattle.
Powell or Ridley will return kicks. Owusu is another candidate (not sure I want him at KR with his concussion issues).
