Have seen that they have also cut Josh Johnson - so looks like they keep just 3 QBs and gamble Fitz stays healthy Clever guys Daballhawk and I predicted this 1 week back
I think Flynn played better, but Josh has a game that's more like Geno. If you want the OL to get used to having a running QB (like Geno) then Josh makes more sense. I think this move indicated that once Geno's healthy he'll likely be the starter (probably after the bye week).
Good job. Flynn is gone and so is Mays, in a shocker. Henderson must have made a real impression. Kudos to you for sticking to your guns and keeping him on board. Unless they have their eyes on someone else, I think the Jets keep 8 LBs - Harris, Davis, Mauldin, Pace, Lattimore, Henderson, Reilly and Coples (unfortunately). I really wish we could trade him to a team for a quality TE or quality OL depth.
I think we're at 65 right now. Take or give one. The CB situation will be interesting to see. The guards. Once we get down to 60 or 55, those are the really tough decisions for Bowles to make.
Good point. I didn't think they'd keep either, but depending upon how Geno is progressing in his recovery, perhaps opt to bring one of them back following the first game. If they did, I wondered if it would be Johnson, because he was more like Geno, was a little cheaper, plus, he gives the offense a different dimension and with the Jets planning to run the ball a lot, adding a running QB makes the rushing attack that much more unpredictable and dangerous.
The Henderson injury isn't that serious. Should be OK by week 2. It was an MCL sprain. Ridley is definitely going on the PUP. He's our second most talented running back or even first. It's arguable.
We'll see what the Erin situation is all about soon. When/If Taiwan gets cut I think that pretty much means Henderson made it. If not then I guess we'll go with one backup ILB (Lattimore) for now.
