probably wanna go back and read the thread. winning that game would not change the fact that we need to win this week.

Yes, clearly I realize that the Jets didn't know how things would work out. My only point was that the Atlanta game was a non-conference game that didn't end up meaning all that much. I'm not sure why you felt the need to point out the obvious . . .

hard to beat the '02 game vs the Pack. Jets had to win to get in (and the division) vs a 12-3 team playing for the #1 seed in the NFC....especially after starting the season 2-5.
The sportsbar turned almost every TV to the ending of the Fins-Pats. Once it ended the place became pandemonium, It felt like destiny. I could only imagine what the stadium was like....... wish I was there!

I remember running from my tailgate to the stadium after the Pats won that game. It was a sea of green and there must have been 10,000+ people running towards the gate. The tailgate that we run is normally no more than 15 people, but my Pops had the TV with the game and there must have been 45 people surrounding the trunk of the car.

I started watching the Jets in 1974 and that was the first big game I ever saw them in. They were never even in it after Thanksgiving except 1978 and that wasn't for long. For a while they weren't even on TV at home. To see them not only in that game but win it as convincingly as they did and at Shea, still one of my favorite Jet memories. They jumped on Green Bay and never let them up.

Especially after Favre's inspirational, fire and brimstone pre-game speech had them ready to go.

We needed 1 of 2 teams to lose, one of those teams won at 1Pm and the other had a huge lead by halftime. Not to mention our team had already tanked it weeks earlier. This feels nothing like that game.

1981 was the first season I couild fully remember. I was lucky as a Jet fan w/ 4 playoff apps in my first 6 seasons watching including an AFC Title Game appearance. How things changed from 1987-1996.

That GB game in 1981 was great, very sloppy offensively but dominating defense by the Sack Exchange.

    I was being sarcastic-

I was making light of the fact that at the time that was a huge game, and I felt like crying for a week.

Title of thread, "last time the Jets had this BIG of a home game?"

    I feel ya though-
