In some instances it does make sense to use the "take so and so out and ..." However, in this case it does not
If you take out the final game of last season, then the Saints still have yet to win a Super Bowl. Sometimes I am glad I can't see any of that Chargers forum crap.
I read some of it and most of the fans were being rational. A few dumb ones were being Chargers homers, but it's not unlike anything you see here on a daily basis.
I recall Boomer Esiason reporting the same thing in the pre season. He attended a few practices and thought LT was a "shot" player and for Jets fans to not expect much at all from him. edit.. I now specifically remember him reporting that LT had not just lost "a step, but more like 2 or 3 steps". How amazingly wrong he was. Perhaps LT was just trolling them and waiting for the games to breakout his new mojo?
LT looks amazing ... that last touchdown yesterday (among several other plays) showed the burst and agility that everyone (including me) had thought left him a few years ago. he is renewed
That last TD reminded me of that open field move he put on Ty Law in like 2004 or something that was just silly and made Ty Law look like a high school player (and a lot slower than his madden speed would suggest). LT still has that explosiveness and was an incredible pick up for the Jets. That being said, the Oline absolutely dominated yesterday and deserves as much credit as LT does
personally, I am pretty nervous. The way Keller and Shiancoe have killed us the past 2 games makes me uneasy going against the promising pair of rookie TEs for the Pats. Offensively, hopefully we can pick apart the young secondary they have. I have a uneasy/sickening feeling about tonight which may not be a bad thing seeing as how I had a positive feeling going into the game against you guys lol. I really don't know what to expect. I would hope our guys are fired up and eager to come out swinging. We came out flat to start the game against you guys, who came ready to play. However, we usually play the Pats tough, especially in Miami.
The only thing is that a RB over 30 needs to be paced if he is your #1 back As ridiculous as some of you may think this sounds, We need to maintain a healthy workload w/ the ShonnMower Split or bulk for him. We can't afford to have LT run out of gas towards the EOS & playoffs. Sure, Shonn will take over by then but still if LT becomes the #2 by then, he still needs something in the tank.
This line of thinking is good if everything continues as nicely as it has been the last few weeks. If for some reason Sanchez has a game where he can't do anything and LT is the only real offense we have going I do not want to see him out of the game so he can be fresh for the playoffs the Jets haven't even qualified for yet. If the offense stays hot I agree with keeping LT as fresh as we can for as long as we can.
