why wouldn't we? he's a big name and makes for great thread discussion. I mean, that's what a message board is all about, right.

    No.

But it would be fun to see how fiesty he'd get playing the Pats twice a year.

I don't think it is the best idea for a new regime to upgrade the RB position with someone older then the current RB. I have no problem trying to upgrade the position but I would look at one of the RBs in the draft if they feel that is a need right now. LT was great but with his injury history and age he is not the right fit for this team right now.

Hey why are people talking about a upgrade? Didn't we have the AFC top rusher this year :jets::beer:

what would that matter? if a player like LT is available, clearly the Jets should consider him regardless of needs. not only that, we should probably also consider drafting a RB in the first three rounds because you clearly can't have enough of them.

Nice post rook, I agree. We can find a younger dicey back.

Then no RB is worth it. Thomas Jones and Leon Washington is a great 1-2 punch anyway.

If there were no salary cap then hell yeah, upgrade every position possible. But in reality, with limited cap space, our running game is more than adequate and our money would be more wisely spent in other areas.

Jeez, the Jets just brought in Bret Favre and we all saw how that worked out. Teams that are already tight on cap space with other significant needs should not give up draft picks for players that are expensive with deteriorating skills. L.T has one or two more good seasons left in him, and that's assuming good health. Not happening.

Firstly...I do NOT play Madden...much more prefer the real game...didn't want to start a thread just for the sake...but it was an interesting thought and wanted to share. As your other post stated...that is what a message board is for...heck of alot better than some of the drivel I've been reading on here lately. ;-)

Just thought it was good food for topic and clearly it was.

    Peace!

Cap wise I can not see LT going anywhere for a Cap friendly deal.

He is going to be way too expensive.

The only way I can see him giving a discount, is to a team that is on the cusp of winning a championship. I really do not think that is the Jets, well not yet. Especially with the Jets questionable QB situation.

I would say LT has 3-4 good years left in him. He's averaged 1500 yds and 16 rushing tds a season. Those are ridiculous numbers. For those who think he's starting his decline he lead the league in rushing and scoring the previous 2 years. His demand will be huge, but if he's available you take a look. Not a huge look because we seemed pretty decent rushing the ball last year, but you look.
