I'm happy u guys picked a cb. I heard from a close friend that's a scout/writer that Kyle is a beast and loves contact. He is most definitely a Rex player but you guys didn't need a cb, so I'm happy as a fin fan. I did not want you guys to get Jerry Hughes. He wouldve been just what u needed in the pass rushing department.
if he is as good as advertised, our secondary is gonna cause a lot of sacks because there won't be many places to throw the ball.
Jerry Hughes doesn't fit the 3-4 and we did need another corner in today's pass happy league. Rex's defense relies on corners.
It's comments like that that prove YET AGAIN that as a Fin fan you have no idea what your talking about and you blow as a person in general. Good luck trying to beat us next year bro b/c I have no idea who you plan on throwing to.
That's because they went around telling their friends "we will be drafting a DE...book it!" and this made them look foolish... Seriously though, I love the kids aggressive style. It's an obvious choice when you see we'll be going up against the Indy and NE and now Miam...aw never mind the last one. While a DE would have been just aga a CB, was there one on the board that you can call a game changer? Plus, Taylor and Gholston ...ugh , did I just fukin say that?
Folks teams the get to the championship game usually make picks to get over the hump against the team that beat them. Take a look at the 2002 NFL Draft. The season before the Eagles lost to the "Greatest Show on Turf" Rams. So what do they do in that draft? Take three or four DBs (including Lito) to match up better against the team that prevented them from reaching the Super Bowl. This Wilson pick is made with the same strategy in mind. The Jets MUST be able to match up with the Colts. It really is as simple as that.
Just so everyone's on board, apparently Kyle's going to go with #20, so feel free to start buying those K-Dub jerseys.
IMHO he was a luxury pick. You guys have two top 15 corners and there was no need to get another in the 1st round. I understand that depth at corner is great, but there were other needs, albeit not many that the jets couldve filled. Jt is a one year stop gap at best and gholston has been complete solidified yoo hoo at this point. This kid will have to play with Davon Bess and Wes welker which should give him good experience.
I couldn't be happier. THinking of how much we can disguise what we do with Wilson. Outside, slot, zone, man, coverage, blitz, acceleration, tackling, I couldn't be happier. A little confused about NE taking McCourty, a fine choice, AHEAD of Wilson.
Fuck, now I'm getting excited. Not that he's necessarily going to be another Revis, but it really sounds like we got incredible value with this pick. He's fast and physical as hell, can't wait to see him blitzing out of nickle and dime packages.
