So I DVR the draft and blaze through the first 28 picks, and after the Phins take Odrick, they show the BPA list. I think I woke up my neighbors screaming 'FUCKING KYLE WILSON TAKE KYLE WILSON!!!' How the hell did this guy fall so far? This is a fucking coup. Anybody thinking that we should have drafted Kindle or any other player available needs to check their eyes. Rex loves corners, this guy should have gone in the top 10, and the main reason we lost the AFCC was CB depth. No brainer.
I think None Shall Pass would have been better. Or maybe I'll whip something up incorporating one of these:
When a team drafts for NEED in the first round, they are doing it for a starter. That's probably the mist basic concept of drafting, and it seems to be lost on you. The Jets did not have an immediate need for a starter, and drafted BPA. I do take it for what it is. Possibly the steal of the draft.
That and, think about who we're going after if we want to win the AFC: The Colts. The Pats do a lot of distributing as well. Torry Holt and Julian Edelman as their 3 and 4 WRs will require half decent personnel.
My first thought was actually that this pick reflected more on the division than the Colts. Wilson has the feet to play on a slot receiver, and that's how the Pats kill teams, with the slot. Adding to that, while I hate the Phins, when they added Marshall, they gave themselves a legit 3-headed receiving attack. Rex just made a move for checkmate.
If Bess and Camarillo are the other two heads, I think they're a little light-headed. Either way, we're set for whatever they throw at us. Perhaps Xerxes has some tips on the wildcat, too.
They may not be a scary combo, but with a year under his belt, Henne will probably make effective use of them. When he's not playing the Jets. I think we'll probably see some Wildcat from the Phins this year, but not nearly as much as we have in the past couple of years. Teams started gameplanning it well in the second half of 2009. The wildcat was a quick fix for a team without a dangerous QB.
It's hard to for any CB not named Revis, Bailey, Asomugha and Woodson, to cover when a QB like Manning has all day to throw.
My favorite part of this pick is Wilson's aggression. He'll have no problem against that scheme, either.:breakdance:
BOOM! Headshot. Absolute steal. Kyle Wilson was never supposed to fall to 29. What an insane draft! As the draft was going on, I was thinking, "Well, Wilson has to go here...", but teams kept passing. I never thought he'd be there at 29. As someone said a few pages back, I thought his stellar combine put him out of reach for us. I can't say it enough...hell of a pick. Rex loves corners, and I thought Wilson was a pretty close second to Haden as the best in this draft. I know it's been mentioned, but I'm happy that, for the most part, the fans on TGG are excited about Wilson and realize the incredible value that he represented. Maybe I overestimated the voice of the ignorant, fuck-witted Jets fan, but I was bracing myself for more complaints.
Revis, Cromartie, and Kyle Wilson? Jesus. We were the best defense in the league with Revis, Sheppard, and fuckn Coleman.
Im just pissed the fag fins got back a second round pick.Come on the chargers hate us and that was a set up.Or the chargers a that dumb. They draft matthew's with 12th pick.WHEN THEY CAN HAVE GOT JAVID BEST AND KEPT there 40th pick. I did not know a 12th pick is worth 2 top 40 picks. fins get odrick,40th pick and marshall for 12th,43rd and a 2nd next year.COME ON!!!
