Rex Ryan wanted Kyle Wilson. Rex Ryan led the #1 defense overall and #1 pass defense last year. He plans for that defense to be better this year and be able to compete against Peyton Manning. Yet for some reason you think you know better than Rex Ryan what the Jets should have done. interesting..
Your username is fucking ElleClouds. In the words of Chappelle's Stinky the Grouch: That's the gayest shit I've ever heard.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but you are the one resorting to name calling. And didn't you make a comment about Mrs. mbgreen in another thread?
This wasn't a luxury pick. We needed another cover corner. Rex's schemes rely on corners that lock down their receivers, this pick improves the entire defense. With three corners of this caliber, we can leave them all on an island and stack the shit out the box or rush everyone at the QB without having to worry about giving up a huge play. Plus if he develops fast enough now we have three guys who can cover the other team's #1 receiver, that's just insane. And in response to the guy who was saying that most teams don't have 3 or 4 receivers to throw to. It doesn't matter if most teams don't, the colts do and if we want to go to the superbowl we have to be able to beat them. So if this one pick does shit about the first 17 games, but allows us to beat the Colts and get to the superbowl, then it was worth it. This pick improves the team more than depth would have.
It should have been "EOS", you're the one who started this ridiculous debate. Rex specifially pushed for Wilson. If he feels that Wilson will help this D more than Kindle or Hughes, or this mystery defensive lineman you have declined to identify, I think I'm going to trust him. He knows a thing or two about defense.
I couldn't watch today (work), but gah!, there's 12 voicemails flashing on my phone. I'll get them tomorrow. Eleven of them are probably from my rabid Jets fan friend, Vinnie.
Mark Sanchez was pretty damn excited, but yeah you're right. I love players getting all hyped up to be a Jet, you don't want to pick a player who would rather be somewhere else. I might be a little biased, but there is no better team that Kyle Wilson could have gone to. He's living in the best city in the US, being coached by the best defensive mind in the NFL, and learning from the best CB in the NFL. Just a perfect situation for him.
I warmed up to this pick quickly, and the more I think of it, the more I realize the genius of Rex Ryan. Now let's grab Mount Cody and stick him at DE. Bye Bye Coleman.
Ha! I was gonna make a sig/wp Like my old Vilma avatar w/ "DO NOT PASS" but instead put "thou shalt not pass" :breakdance:
I turned to my room mate and said the same exact thing (he is a jets fan). I'll take Wilson, but I really do get the feeling that the fins did that to piss us off.
I'm so happy! either he or kindle would've been terrific. If Cro sucks we got a 1st round CB who could've gone top 20 in our lineup. fuck ya tanny!
I haven't belittled you; so you can answer the question that I ask. At Pick #29 what Defensive or Offensive lineman should the Jets have drafted over Kyle (whose value at that Pick was great) Wilson?
