okay. Officially my #1 selection for the Jets. Problem is, I will guarantee he's not around at #29. When the scouts get done probing this kids life, film, and brain, he'll end up being a top 20 selection. Fuck. Perfect #2 and a returner on ST. A Punt Returner, something the Jets desperately need. Here's to him miraculously slipping in the draft.
People aren't too high on him.. not sure why. Some guy at the senior bowl I remember said he was the best player at practice so he's going to move up..
If he's the #2 rated CB he won't be there (also considering how high Haden will go)... if he's the #3 he might... Personally I think he'll be there.
I meant perfect #2 across from Revis... my bad, I wasn't clear on that. But he could be the 2nd CB off the board come April. He wants to prove he can run a 4.3 at the combine, and with a good outing at the senior bowl he's going to impress rise up the boards quickly.
Let's go trip him up Don't worry ND, I understood what you were saying... it was just my personal opinion I also want to see how the other CBs do before deciding who I want... right now there seem to be so many good DBs in this draft!
Which is a huge positive for the Jets who clearly want to restock on DBs this year considering how Rex loves to blitz them in his schemes. Great man to man CBs are needed. Maybe a safety/corner guy for those Nickel 3 safety sets we see if Rhodes does go. I'm hoping for Wilson. Revis/Wilson combo won't be fair to anyone. Poor QBs with two ballhawking CBs and all those pressured throws. so many chances for INTs.
I think Lowery can be a pretty versatile DB as a #2/nickel/S(which he hasn't played yet, just a fantasy of mine). Revis / Wilson / Lowery / Strickland would be jaw dropping. At S I like Leonhard / E. Smith / Ihedigbo but (especially the latter 2) are more physical S than ball-hawks... I think in this year draft we need to find our Jarius Byrd (if we waive goodbye to Rhodes). What Manning showed is that we are vulnerable in passing down the middle... we need someone (ala Reed) that makes QB not want to toss it in there. WW,Mr.E... any CB that might become a FS at the next level? I think Myron Rolle would be a nice addiction at FS if we get a #3 for Rhodes.
Trade Rhodes, Lowery to safety wouldn't be a bad idea. We've all seemed to agree on that transition. He may not be able to deliver a huge hit, but he can wrap up and tackle, and has a much better work ethic.
Virginia's Chris Cook is a pretty versatile defender. I think he'll end up at safety. I'd love for the Jets to draft him in the later rounds.
I honestly see Rex possibly doing that if he decides to trade Rhodes and we can't pick up or draft anyone he really wants. This all would also be contingent on whether or not we can draft a CB like Wilson or possible nab one in Free Agency.
We already have 3 S to do that... so I'm happy if we have one who is better in coverage than blowing people up . Plus Lowery is pretty physical... not an Ihedigbo or E. Smith kind of guy but more than someone I know who couldn't tackle a chicken... (Rhodes)...
you wrong piece of shit. He WAS available at #29!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe my guy was there.... holy fucking shit my guy was still around at 29. When the Pats to McCourty, I let out a cliche dramatic GASP and my friends were like "what?"....With big eyes and a shit eating grin I said, "dude, Kyle Wilson is still on the board."
