I don't know that Sparano wanted Henne. Parcells went off of Henne big time before 2011 and Henne got hurt early on wiping the season for him. For Sparano to ask for him after Parcells dissed him would have been asking a lot given Tannenbaum's evident respect for Parcells.
I would too. But not with the expectation that he'd do anything more for the Jets than Sanchez has with the level of talent around him. I'd do the deal just to get a QB in here who had some talent and was not under constant siege from the media and fans. Maybe the Jets can swing Sanchez and Holmes to the Rams for Bradford in the off-season? That'd be a cap-positive deal and probably locker room positive also.
It's obvious to me that the Rams have a very weak roster. I also think highly of Jeff Fisher, but unless the talent level on their roster is greatly improved, he will not be able to do much with that team. I frankly do not know, however, how much control Fisher has over the roster, but unless it's a great deal, I don't know why he would have taken that job. But if he or whoever runs the Rams makes the same kind of mistakes Tanny has made with the Jets, you are probably right. I would merely point out that we should not assume Fisher would make those same mistakes as a matter of course.
Sanchez had been blitzed more than any QB in the NFL coming into yesterday's game. That should say something. I just wish our run game was a little more potent. It's improving slowly, but not quick enough!
