he actually said the opposite. he defended the o-line and flowers and said eli needs better mechanics and to make better decisions

Eli has been an average QB with a few good years and a few bad ones. but overall never really a top QB. He's been a solid veteran who has stayed healthy and played good enough to keep his job, but he's never been a top tier QB. the other 2 Qbs drafted with him (rivers and ben) have outperformed him (although rivers never won anything and that's why eli didn't want to go there or are you forgetting that?) he was the worse of the 3 taken in that draft.

I never said cousins will have a better career then eli. He's had a good carer for sure and his durability has allowed him to be in the top all time in most categories but again so was testeverde. it was longevity that got them there not by being MVPs. all i said was the past 2 years cousins has played better then eli has at any point in his career and that is 100% true.

Your right, he blamed both! I also acknowledged your point of Eli not being in the top 5.

He is no Trent Dilfer either, I'm not trying to look at the extremes here, elite vs one hit wonder QBs like Dilfer.

However, he is not this average QB that lucked into a good football career, or an average QB that led his team to 3 road playoff games against the top seeds and defeated the patriots, an average QB in this league does not do that, you and I have seen average QB play, and it's not fun.

Kirk has had two awesome seasons, I acknowledged that also, but that is a very small sampling, I want to see 3 or 4 years and then yes, give him the money if they have to, but by that point he will be a FQB and whoever he is with will never let him go.

That's just my opinion on Kirk, I'll be the first one that gives him kudos. He is from Michigan state after all and I love Michigan state, it's my favorite college football team.

I'd give the #6 pick for him in a second if we could have a long term deal in place first. The rumors were Washington wanted 2 first round picks, this year and nextdoor and that he was not open to signing a deal with anyone but the 49s. If that is the case, then I give up the #6 for him we and trade him for the 49s .
