I was hoping we would hear some rumors today about Cousins but other than what Alex posted there isn't much.

well multiple sources have confirmed the NYJ currently have the most salary cap space in the league.......

whew, thats a relief. i feel like we just won the AFC salary cap bowl.

now lets move onto the regular season and showcase another 5-11 gem.

I think this is good news for folks who wants to sign Kirk. If Kirk had already made up his mind we should have heard by now. This tells me Jets are still in play.

 

With Buffalo now sitting at #12 & #22, trading up just got that much more expensive. I'd rather invest the extra $$$ in Cousins than extra draft equity to move up.

 

understand the thinking BUT we have uber cap space and some folks would view that as more value than actual draft picks.

signing an established NFL player as opposed to the draft pick crapshoot may be better in the short and long term.

 

well the MLB free agent market is a bear so its possible the NFL free agent market may not be the lotto win some think.

i know i know, different sport, dynamics, but you never know. LOL

The Jets are still in it. The Vikings are making contact with many QB's too, making it seem Cousins is not a done deal to them as some have said. Pretty interesting. Hopefully Mac pulls this off.

 

Exactly. Now the bills are poised to trade into the top 5, which means the Browns, Bills and Broncos could take 3 QBs with the possibility of the Giants taking 1 as well. Cousins will bring a big sigh of relief knowing we could possibly miss out on all the QBs in the draft. Not to mention more non QBs available at 6.

This could also mean they are losing interest in cousins....

 

We are still in play for Chubb, Nelson, Ward, Fitzpatrick, and Smith not to shabby.

 

Id rather offer Brees 70 million guaranteed for 2 years and stay where we are in the draft and draft a qb if 1 is there at 6 than pay Cousins.
But Buffalo definitely gonna jump us at 6.

 

Minny may have called Brees agent simply for the fact that they know they are only real threat to land him. Brees at this point is NOT leaving Nola because of dome factor. Vikings can offer that.

 

Brees wants to play for a contender...no way he jumps ship from the saints for NY...maybe the Vikings though.

 

I can definitely see the Bills getting the 4th pick overall for sure.

I've got an idea Mac may have fucked up another opportunity to make this team better? If he ends up getting Lamar Jackson due to his own stupidity I'm all done with him. I will before Woody to shitcan him.

 

I'd be more then happy "ending up" with jackson, people who feel the way you do, have intended too much to hype and haven't watched the film. I'd suggets watching both jackson and whoever you like side by side, and using your eyes see who looks more like an NFL QB
