I'd take a flyer on Andre Brown in the 3rd. The guy is big, strong, and has good speed (a 4.32 low in the 40). From Scout.com:

"Brown is a strong, tough runner who has intriguing skills. He has great size and strength and is surprisingly athletic. He’s a classic North-South runner, who has some shiftiness in his game. He has great balance, lowers his pads to gain the advantage over the opposition and keeps his legs moving in a pile. He’s an outstanding blocker and a capable receiver. Durability is an issue. - Chris Steuber, Scout.com"

On paper that's an outstanding compliment to Leon Washington. It would also allow us to go WR/DL in the first 2 rounds, no particular order.

    Now flame away.

Poor choice of words on my part. Slot receivers are often small, quick players who run tight routes and are adept at finding soft spots in zone coverage (although some teams prefer to use bigger WRs in the slot.) What I meant and should have said is that Murphy will likely have to play off the line when he's on the field (flanker or slot) because even though he has good size, he's considered to be pretty weak physically and expected to have trouble beating the jam. Despite his tremendous speed, he is not a good route runner and, at least in agility drills, has had struggles with his footwork in planting and maintaining his balance which has led to him slipping and falling quite alot. I don't know if it was at the combine or his pro-day but during his agility drills, he kept slipping and falling so much that he chose to remove his football cleats/shoes and put on his track shoes. He may be more track star than football player is the concern I have. Although many people believe he has tremendous upside, many others think he also has high bust potential. I guess that fits the definition of a high risk/high reward player which I am more inclined to try and avoid in the earlier rounds.

Anyway, because of his alleged below average strength and route running ability, that's why I suggested he would play off the line as a 3rd or 4th WR for deep routes.

Agreed there. I'd definitely take him in the 3rd round if we don't go with Knowshon Moreno in the 1st. Davis and Glen Coffee are my two favorite sleepers at RB this year.
