one benefit we haven't discussed yet is this signing it will give us a little insight on what the Patriots game plan against the Falcons was.
Yeah, run the ball a hundred times and then when they stop you, let Brady through it in LOL I remember one drive, they literally ran the ball 10 or 11 times in a row, starting at their own 20. They got all the way down to the 5 yard line and then when Atlanta stopped them, Brady threw it in. Marty needs to run the football and keep running it. Atlanta is struggling big time with their run defense.
This guys was a highly rated TE coming out of college. Looking at his highlights, this guy can be a huge piece & weapon on Offense....given a little time. Great "potential" signing by Jets. He appears to have size, speed, & agility. I hope he sticks around. He has potential to be a #1 TE on Jets. Below are some highlights. He has very good pass-catching skills, which is important in todays NFL. Jets have upgraded TE position. I can safely say the Pats are hurting right now. This guy has "WOW" potentiL. I can just hear "Ray Lucas" hollering about this kid !!!!! If Jets can get a feature RB to take the attention off this guy, he can be a real weapon. Best TE weapon.....Jets have ever had. He has to learn to avoid so much contact & of course he has to get stronger. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnOPJrJkh1w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysA0io2i8Nc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYTBQitbeS8
If the kid couldn't show much with Brady, we should temper expectation. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
Belichick loves tight ends but without Gronk and Hernandez he has gone to more of a multiple reciever set. If the guy had stood out they wouldn't have cut him. On ESPN Boston their columnist said that Sudfeld was originally predicted by people in the NEP org to be at least a year away from being an NFL player. He was kind of pushed in training camp with Gronk injured and he played very well in pre-season and practice. After he was cut they still kept his locker in tact so the thinking by reporters was they wanted him on the practice squad. I guess the Jets will evaluate him in practice it's doubtful he will dress on Monday night. They still have 3 other Tes incl. Konrad.
He may not be a contributor in 2013, but indications are he might be a diamond in the rough and a good year away from being NFL ready.
He isn't the first tight end BB has cut so far this season. He earlier cut Daniel Fells (who the Jets also worked out) and Jake Ballard after the Patriots paid his salary on IR for a year knowing he could not play. Right now Matthew Mulligan is on their roster and caught a TD pass from Brady the other day. He's a good blocker so they'll probably keep him around. When he played on the Jets a lot of penalties and if he does that with NEP he'll get cut.
The patriots an Brady turn trash into gold, if they released him, considering there TE troubles, he fuckin sucks, end of thread
Marty was even criticizing hiimself before last week's game on how they weren't throwing much to the tight ends. And why not. It's a good way for moving the chains and the Jets have two good receiving TEs in Winslow and Cumberland. It would make things easier for Geno to get these guys involved more in the offense.
comon.... that onside kick, can't blame him for that... the ball was kicked excellently. It was heading towards him on one side of his body then spun to the other side at the last second. Would have been a great grab if he managed to make the adjustment.
Funny the Pats let him go. Considering their depth at TE. And they paid this guy a large signing bonus for a UFA. Hope he's got the hands to go along with the frame.
