You're probably right. I'm just wistful. Longing for the days when the Monday morning press conference actually meant something. Probably caused by all this Twitter nonsense.
This thread is the current Spivey. I love it. I checked my Twitter before I came on here this morning. I saw Clowney's message and laughed. Great stuff David, especially quoting "CNN News" as the source. As for Marshall, like JJ said above, he would immediately open up the offense. It's not like bringing in a draft pick who still has yet to prove himself. He immediately changes defensive plans to account for him being on the field, regardless of his knowledge of the playbook. I've been calling 4-6 wins all along. If Marshall becomes a Jet without giving up significant pieces of the current team, I would immediately bump that to 8-9 wins. Could it push us to 10, and a possible playoff berth? I don't think so, but you never know.
i bet his next tweet will be "Sorry guys, false alarm, i really thought there was an announcement coming, it wasn't a joke. I'm sorry.
I don't know why everyone is bugging out about Marshall being activated. I watchEd the Chicago v Denver game and he said they would lift the susension on the 4th. That's exactly what they did. You can't read into that.
What would be interesting is if the Jets were using all the Marshall speculation to deflect coverage while working a deal with Cleveland or San Francisco. I don't believe that's actually happening but something is brewing, and if nothing really is coming out of Denver, then what IS going on?
Of course you can! What do you think they lifted the suspension for? This guy is a complete cancer, and not worth anything to the Broncos as a player. The only reason they would even consider lifting the ban is that he is being traded, and it only makes logical sense for the Jets to be the team that gets him. Are you really a football fan?
The Broncos DID say that they'd lift his suspension after the Preseason, so it's not like this comes as a surprise.
Too late to trade for Crabtree now. He wouldn't help us for weeks anyway. I do believe something could happen with Cleveland as we have already made one major deal with Mangini this year. Of course he took a lot of crap about it from the Cleveland press.
Nick Mangold 09/07/2009 10:25 AM ET I dunno about @jayfeely, but I'm pretty mad @kerryrhodes for stirring up this hysteria. I was expecting some real news with my coffee today haha
what if the jets were trying to get edwards by trading vernon gholston and picks/qb... i was reading somewhere how he was strictly manginis pick and the front office didn't like him... the article said vg was a reminder of the mangini era
