Kerry Rhodes Traded (4th and 2011 7th)

It's been a rough time since the stroke.

 

Every team operates under a budget, Jones and Sheppard weren't worth what they were being paid and Rhodes wasn't seeing eye to eye with the coaching staff. A fag like Kerry Rhodes would probably start trouble in the locker room if he wasn't traded or if he wasn't treated differently than everybody else.

And I don't think we're done this offseason spending money (on more than just draft picks)

Hey, it's just my opinion, but here you get attacked for it. I just see that a great team is being dismantled to cut costs. I think we were a few players from getting to the Super Bowl. Now, I think we're going backwards. People can make excuses as to why Feely, Jones and Rhodes are leaving the team, but I don't see any excuse. It's just about cutting cost.

Uh... the Jets can't sign UFAs this offseason. They still traded for a new starting CB, but I guess that's not good enough. Fuckin' cheapskates....

 

Football is a business...first and foremost.

Players that get up there in age start to show "decline" in their skillset.....

when you start to understand and accept that....then you won't feel like your team is being dismantled, but made stronger for the future.


nobody is attacking you....just put some thought into the situation and think about it from other angles (the business, the forseeable future...etc)

 

I went 16 pages to find this. I think Lowery would do a fine job at safety. It's just a thought though. Between Smith, Lowery and Ihedigbo, there are in house options. Now couple that with the upcoming draft and what's left of free agency (for us with the final 8 rule), we chould be fine.

I think by trading Rhodes, it was addition by subtraction. He obviously wasn't on board with the coaching philosophy and was benched. His performance equalled that of 2008 which was far from the excellent 2007 season.

If Mike T could have gotten more, I'm sure he would have. If anything, Mike T has my trust.

Ok, so fuck excuses....here are some reasons why they were cut.

Thomas Jones = a running back at age 32 who just had some knee problems is not worth 6mil.

Kerry Rhodes = A prancing pony who's too afraid one of his ear rings will fall out if he hits someone too hard, does not belong on rex ryans defense.

Jay Feely = well i dunno about him, but we'll get over it.

And i do not think anyone was attacking you but when you say shit like "johnson is a cheapskate" people's natural response should be "what the fuck?!?!?" just sayin.

 

Wanted about $2.5million when he was the 19th most accurate kicker in the NFL.

 

How quickly people forget that Nick Folk once went 6/6 for FG's in one game for Dallas, and at least 2 of them were beyond 45 yards.

 

But he won't run down the field to make tackles. That makes him a terrible kicker!

 

Seems quite low to me in terms of a return, but I am sure that they tested the market and if all that the market was offering was a 4th rounder then that is all Rhodes was worth.

 

We also lost strickland. Right now we have Revis, Cromartie, Lowery, at corner. Strickland was great when he was healthy.
