They can sign a solid player that gets cut or un-tendered to the nickel, or use a draft pick on a kid to play there and learn from Revis. I'd worry about adding a nickel back after I get my safety spot settled, without question.
And I would worry about creating holes in the team before I start switching players around. The FA period is only two days old, why start moving players around like this until the Jets know that they have to. Signing a safety that gets cut or un-tendered is just as easy as doing it for a nickel spot. If there are no starting safeties available in FA then using a rotation like Iggy mentioned in another thread is the best option right now. At least wait until after the draft before we start creating needs we did not have heading into it.
good Riddance, glad hes gone. hes a lazy player. dont get upset when he has one good year for the cards because he will. But once he gets comfortable he will go back to his bs. jets will figure something out, a guy with more heart and less talent can be alot more affective than Rhodes was past 3 seasons. hes been terrible
Honestly, I get too much of this here. I live in phoenix, and honestly the fans are a joke. They are not real football fans. Before the Cardinals went on there superbowl run, they couldn't give away a ticket. Now all of a sudden you see everyone wearing Cardinals apparrel. I just get a kick out of them. I can't wait to here the reaction from fans on "the new hard hitting safety they just got" Unbelievable
I'm just weighing in on this now but I think we could've gotten more, unless Tanny has something up his sleeve. At least this takes away from running against the Cro-Rhodes combo.
Arizon is closer to Hollywood so he should be thrilled with this trade. I guess Rex couldn't have two bad tacklers in the secondary with Rhodes and Cromartie. Rhodes play really slipped the last two years and wished we could have gotten more than a 4th for him. But the league is savvy and knows his play is as soft as cotton. Now the question is does rex have his replacement already on the team or plan to acquire via free agency or the draft. If its eric Smith I have some real problems with this move. He is terrible in coverage.
Gee thanks captain obvious......... But wasnt Bolden on the Cards BEFORE he was traded to the Ravens???? NFL.com will also tell you what the other team was involved in the trade. It doesnt just list the team that he went to but also the team that traded him. See if you can follow along. If I go too fast for you I can give you the short yellow school bus version... Bolden was on the Cards before the trade to the Ravens as you have so delicately pointed out. Does Tanny give them a call and offers them Rhodes + a pick for Bolden?????? or even a straight up deal since the deals that were actually made were kind of close to each other. Got it?
Look at it this way... We dumped a shitty player with a huge contract for a draft pick in the round that he was picked and another late round pick. So it's potentially equal value plus another pick. Hopefully we'll be able to find two quality players that want to play this game.
I got what he was asking. I also thought your response was hilarious and his was hilariously unnecessary and over the top. All in all, a nice little Saturday.
I thought it was but perhaps it wasnt. There are other and better ways to ask for an explanation then to attempt to belittle another poster. Que sera, sera.
One more thing I have to say... I don't think the Jets would have made this move unless they knew who was replacing Rhodes. Lets say the Jets trade for Atogwe today with Rhodes still on the roster. When they go to trade Kerry they lose all leverage. The other team knows we're just looking to get rid of Kerry Rhodes at that point. Not that we got a ton anyways but you know what I'm saying.
