I hope so because this doesn't make much sense right now. At all. I refuse to believe they could not have got more out of him. I would've rather have kept him then get that type of compensation. Terrible move right now, hopefully it looks like a work of a genius down the road. Time will tell.

Rhodes' statistics at the end of the 2006 season were of a Pro Bowl Caliber, but Ed Reed, Troy Polamalu, (Better Safeties) and John Lynch proved to be more popular in fan voting and earned the nod ahead of the Jets' safety. Kerry was named to the 2006 "All Pro" teams by the Associated Press. Also ESPN.Com and The Sporting News

The Associated Press NFL All-Pro Team is an annual selection of the best players in the National Football League (NFL) by position as selected by a national panel of media members of the Associated Press. Unlike selection to the Pro Bowl (all star game), votes are cast for outstanding players by position without consideration for whether the player competes in the American Football Conference (AFC) or National Football Conference (NFC). The Associated NFL All-Pro Team is the longest running selection awards program in existence.

Kerry Rhodes has never played in, or been selcted to the Pro Bowl...

Where on the Flip side, Cromartie ended up going to the Pro Bowl after getting double-digit interceptions, which set a Chargers record for interceptions. They also payed for the fact that he's a former first round pick, # 19 overall...

I personally believe he has more potential than Rhodes does, and thats why they gave up a 3rd for him, next year, and were willing to take a 4th this year, in a deep draft for Rhodes, who outside of 2006 and into 2007, has never lived up to his potential

While 7th round draft picks dont seem great, there can always be a steal in the 7th round. A pick is a pick.

    Ahmad Bradshaw
    Donald Driver
    Marques Colston
    T.J. Houshmandzadeh...

Yeah, sure wouldn't like to have any of those guys on the team.

I dont think people can complain until they see who we replace him with and at what cost.

If we get someone like Atogwe this ends up looking AMAZING. If we end up with someone like Gibiril Wilson it looks like it could be a mistake. If we end up drafting a bust with an early pick to replace him, then it looks like a complete disaster.

Look, let me say this. I am disappointed on the compensation. Regardless of how much i dislike rhodes i will say this. For a team that just lost a safety and badly needed one they could of parted with a 3rd as we did for Cromartie (be it next year) we didn't have to get rid of Rhodes but we chose to do it. if it was a 4th and a 5th next year then maybe i would have been alright with it. But a 7th, that's the equivalent to a Practice Squad player or a undrafted Free agent. More so now it creates another hole which we may have to trade more picks to move up and get someone of value. I do not like the idea of trading picks and loading up on 3 players every draft. Sure we hit on good players with Sanchez and Greene and the years before with Revis and Harris but we need pash rushers, O line depth and younger D-Line players and even corners in case Cromartie does not work out so well. This puts us in a hole to the fact we are basically forced to trade up and grab a quality safety. Losing Rhodes doesn't make me upset. the fact that we couldn't get more for a team who desperately needed a safety is disappointing.

Being from Canada I have only been to one Jets game and that was the one in toronto. On game day im at the CN tower and who do i see... Kerry Rhodes with two broads, it was awesome to actually meet an NFLer considering im from Canada but the first thing that came to my mind is shouldnt you be getting ready for the game??? just shows that football is not a priority for him. see ya kerry.

now lets trade back and get some 2nd - 4th round picks.

Also you can say that Kerry Rhodes is horrible and the expect a high pick for the guy. no offense to some of you but if you know that kerry isnt good how the hell would all the guys that actually get paid to know, not know?

A 3rd next year is equal to a 4th this year, moot point

ND, Dude, I think you're losing it man....

Darren Sharper? Seriously the guy is a fossil who played CF last year and got a few gifts...

and are you seriously going to bank everything on the JETS 4th round magic?
That shit doesn't last forever and sooner or later we're gonna end up w/ a lump of coal in our stocking in the 4th rd.

While I like many of you soured on K-Ro I have to say that we kinda wet the bed here.
Zona just lost one of the premiere safties in the league and we basically gave them Kerry.
I think we coulda gotten more but we can't really bitch, at least that TwitterBug is gone!

A 4th round pick is valuable on a normal year.

This year there's more talent available than normal due to agents rushing players in before a rookie scale.

This deal will be to the Jets benefit.

Atogwe did NOT get a first round tender..

The St. Louis Rams have officially tendered Oshiomogho Atogwe at the lowest level possible for a restricted free agent _ the right of first refusal level.

As a result, the Rams get no draft pick compensation if they choose not to match an outside offer.

Atogwe gets only $1.226 million as opposed to the $6.976 million he would have gotten if tendered at any other level.

The Rams are gambling that Atogwe won’t garner much interest in free agency. Or that they’ll be able to match any outside offer if he does.

The Chicago Bears, in dire need of help at safety and showing signs they are willing to spend in free agency, already are thought to be eye-balling Atogwe.

What the hell? Robbery! Kerry was a starter and at times a very good one at that. I do not like this trade one bit.

I Love how now that he's gone, everybody loves him and says he was worth more, when people were ecstatic for a 3rd round pick, and would have settled for the fourth.

You people act like Rhodes had value to begin with, HE GOT BENCHED

Youre right Brandon Marshall got benched at the end of the season.

The Broncos should trade him for a 4th round pick.
