One game doesn't impress me. He should have been playing like this all year. I hope Ryan keeps him coming off the bench and let Smith start.
he had two ints that me or you could have picked, it was like catching a punt, delhomme is atrocious. I cannot believe that Carolina gave him that contract Exts. last year, horrible.
I love how everyone is bashing Rhodes because his interceptions weren't highlight reel plays, he put himself in position to make the plays and I credit him for that.
Its funny now how everybody is trying to pretend they're not impressed with 2 ints to back their own ass up for slamming him for the week. I'm going to say that Revis off the leg was a bad INT as well, except for the fact that he was in the position to make the catch. The game is not all skill, it requires the ball to be thrown your way for an interception to be made. He was in the position that the ball was thrown and that is the important part.
Mr.E since your the resident draft guru. Rex Ryan is not going to ever want a safety who doesn't like to tackle. I think they will trade Rhodes this off season. What are your thoughts on compensation? Would a cover 2 team love to have Rhodes?
Rhodes should still be benched. Let him earn his roster spot against a good team. Eric Smith plays run support better, so, he's already more useful to this team than Rhodes.
You guys are bitching because he grabbed 2 easy interceptions... What did you want the man to do drop them and wait for something more challenging.
i slammed Kerry this past week but anyone who is trying to discredit his 2 int's needs to take a step back. I haven't seen anyone bitching about revis' pick six being a lucky play. Rhodes has been playing like shit all season but yesterday he did everything that could have been asked of him. i hope he keeps it up but even if he doesn't yesterday was a great game for him and personal opinions of a player should not skew that for anyone.
You can't even mention Revis and Rhodes in the same breath, one is one of the best players in the entire NFL, one had his 1st good game of the year.
they both had int's gift wrapped for them. just because Revis is a stud doesn't make his int any less lucky.
look I am not trying to argue for Rhodes but the ball hit Steve Smith in the foot and bounced up and hit Revis right in the chest. that is about as lucky as it gets even for the best corner in the league. Obviously you have to be in the right position to make the INT but that statement holds true for Rhodes as well as Revis. Both of them benefited from bad decisions and being in the right place at the right time. I don't want to take anything away from Revis or Rhodes for yesterday. I just find it odd the Rhodes is now getting slammed for getting lucky or making easy picks but nobody seems to have the same issues with a well liked player. I just like consistency, something this fan base has difficulty with.
Rhodes is getting slammed for creating this image of himself as an elite player and not backing it up on the field. He still has a lot of work to do.
