Pretty good player (for his role), but underused by current coaching staff for whatever reason..... probably because Fitz needs "large catch radius" guys. Cutting him doesnt make sense to me, but not the end of the world. Good luck Jery-Kerl..... Unless you end up in New England
Bingo. End of story. Thomkins became the speed guy on the outside. Kerley is not fast. Decker is the better receiver, period, but did damage in the slot big time I don't think Kerley really wanted to return punts tho. Obviously I don't know that, but I'm thinking that got him a foot in the doghouse. But it was the fit on the O...bottom line
He was in the doghouse from day 1 it seemed. I remember camp reports early on saying that Kerley was working with the 3s. He just wasn't a fit here and I don't think he'll be much more than a rotational WR the rest of his career.
Signs with Lions. http://www.detroitnews.com/story/sp...ns-land-no-3-receiver-jeremy-kerley/82072732/ Good move for him, great QB, fast track, no Calvin Johnson--I wish him the best. _
good for him, i hope he does well. he was the one guy that really got the shaft last year and made me question the cs about why exactly he was completely underutilized and pretty much told to go fuck himself. id take matthew stafford on the jets in a heartbeat. rather than waiting for fitz
I really like his play as well. Imagine him slinging it to our receiving corps. Gunslingers rule. Get it done Mac.
Congrats, Jeremy Kerley! I wish you every success with the Lions! Sorry that things didn't work out for you here.
I think he is good but not great. Would I love him on the Jets yes do I think we would have won a super bowl with him as qb idk
'09 and '10 might've been a different story. Way better than Dirty. The O would've been a different animal Who cares now anyway....water under the bridge. We can only dream about having a guy like that now
Instead the whole fan base is hoping a sub pat qb takes the contract he was offered because unfortunately he is our best chance for us to win games next season
http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2016/03/todd_bowles_raves_about_jeremy_kerley_after_jets_c.html "He's got great hands," Jets coach Todd Bowles said. "Probably the best hands I've ever seen." Bowles said the Jets' decision to part ways with Kerley, who caught 182 passes in five seasons with the Jets, was a financial one. "We just had trouble finding room for him," Bowles said. "The other two guys were playing so well. That's really what it was." Best hands you've ever seen... but you can't find room for him. Errrrrrr, okay.
Says a whole lot about his effort and route running (which are tied together sometimes) if they cut a guy with the best hands they've ever seen just to make room for rotational D linemen.
that is definitely a head scratcher. Especially when you consider this team blew a chance for the lead, and possibly a playoff berth, on a dropped shuttle pass to a backup WR. If Kerley had the best hands Bowles has ever seen maybe he should've put him out there for something like that. Kerley's lack of playing time was a big mystery last year. I'm not even the biggest Kerley fan but you gotta play the best guys available and last season he was flat out better than Devin Smith, Thompkins, Enunwa, etc all guys who were thrown out there all season
