it's great to hear all this optimisum but we are a team making a SuperBowl run. The slot reciever is a very important position and i'm not ready to trust it to a rookie.
WR is the one position where it doesn't matter where you are drafted or even if you walk on. You can make a team and become great being drafted anywhere.
I still kick myself for not seeing it. It was right in front of me. Every damn warning sign... and you're opinion too. I didn't do my homework on his personality, because he is so easy going and boring I find him transparent to the lack of desire and fire that he wants to play in the NFL. Writing was on the wall from day 1.
It's pretty sad, since I live in Columbus and seen VG's entire OSU career, not many believed me to stay far away from him. DWare (he's on another Jet site) still will never admit VG was a bust.
Maybe at the slot (Chrebet, Bess, Welker) but there aren't a whole lot of outside receivers who were drafted late, and the ones who were (Brandon Marshall, Colston, Tampa's Mike Williams) were generally big time screwjobs in college.
Garcon, Austin, Johnson, Gates (TE but catches like a WR). Probably others. Point seems to be it's easier to walk on and become a starter at WR then it is at any other position. And there are lots of 6th and 7th rounders that make it.
Look, I like some of your posts, but why is it always necessary for you to engage in such egregious self-fellating? Are you really that insecure that you have to constantly start threads with the primary purpose of building yourself up? The guy is impressing. Where are the constant posts from WW85, who first mentioned this kid back in 2009? Who had him as an outstanding 5th round pick (nailed the round) back in January? I mean, he's impressing. Where are WW85 and Mr. E with the "my slot receiver" threads? It's grating, and having spoken with several other posters, I'm not the only one who feels it detracts from your posting on this board. And I should know about doing obnoxious things that degrade the quality of posts.
