That's odd. I would normally never consider somebody who splits time to be at keeper level. Williams had the big year over there, and I'd expect him to be the #1 guy wouldn't you? I think McNabb and TO both will outproduce Stewart next season.
Stewart does split time, but he's a 22-year-old highly regarded RB who possesses an incredible power/speed combo. I would not think twice about keeping him over a 32 year old McNabb (who's not even an elite, top-tier QB), and a 36-year-old TO (who's best years are, realistically, behind him). Now if you want to go "all in" for this season without worrying about the future, then maybe you'd go w/McNabb. I absolutely would not. Stewart had 800+ rushing yards and double digit TDs while sharing carries. Carolina won't be able to keep both him and Deangelo forever. His talent and his position dictate, IMO, that he be kept. You can always draft a serviceable QB in a 12-teamer with a 1 starting QB requirement. Plus, as I said before, its not as if McNabb is some irreplaceable stud.
No Worries, that Thomas might be the Starter week 1? If I keep Reggie, I gotta make sure, that I also get Thomas, which means I probably have to draft him as early as round 3-5 depending on his Preseason. No Love for Ronnie?
I wasn't suggesting you keep Bush...it just bothered me when that guy said he had no fantasy value and that drafting Leon Washington would be the same thing. Pierre Thomas will definitely get a lot of carries and he'll be the Saints' goalline back, but Sean Payton will still get the ball in Bush's hands 20 times a game. If Ronnie Brown stays healthy all season, he'll probably get double digit touchdowns and 30 to 40 receptions. He'll produce if his knees hold strong. I'd keep Stewart. If this is a dynasty keeper league, take the young back. He'll get all of the goalline work for the Panthers. DeAngelo Williams won't get 270 plus carries again. Stewart is 100% healthy and the Panthers are going to run teams into the ground with these guys.
All right, I'll give you his season in 2006. But I think that's as close as Bush comes to being a fantasy stud. Those 2007 and 2008 numbers are very pedestrian, even in a PPR league.
I never said Bush has no fantasy value. I just said that Boldin has more. And Bush has more value than Ronnie Brown who, despite putting up great numbers for something like a 5-game stretch, sucks ass.
As I said earlier, Reggie led all WRs and RBs in scoring in my league, till he went down, and this league only rewards 0,5 PPR. He was on pace for 1500 total yards and 11 TDs. The Fact that Colston was out, and evey other reciever sucked big time, probably had something to do with his good numbers early on, but Reggie was definitly a FF Stud early on in 2008. Otherwise, I would not have a difficult decision here.
you?re right, I thought he only came up big during the 2nd half of the season, but I looked up his numbers, they weren?t too shabby from the begining.
I see what you're saying. I am definitely playing to win next season though, and that's why I am not considering Stewart for next year as a keeper. I will definitely try and scoop him up in the draft though as his talent is obvious.
10 TDs and close to 1000 yards from a 5'9 undrafted wideout is awesome. Drew Brees had a huge season in 2008 - he seems to make everyone around him better.
July 1st is my league's keeper deadline. As the day approaches I've decided I want to keep a QB. McNabb or Schaub? Am I stupid for even considering Schaub? I'm thinking he'll have a huge season in 09.
