He'd have been tossed after the second batter nowadays. What a shame.

If this were actually allowed today, someone would be dead.

Can you imagine if a guy like Verlander decided to do this? Throwing 100+ at someone's head would be tragic.

Hitting batters is part of the game, and comes with its own set of unwritten rules. Unfortunately, we've seen guys break those rules with abandon lately. Can you imagine how ugly the Cubs game would have been yesterday if hitting batters was acceptable and unpunished?

I actually pitched in a perfect game and pitched a complete no hitter

I played baseball all my life, 3 or 4 leagues in a summer, little league all-stars, all that good stuff up until 2 years ago

The perfect game was when I was 12......I pitched the first 3 innings and my friend pitched the other 3.....It was only a little league regular season game on the small field, but pretty crazy that no one made an error with 11 and 12 year olds......As I remember we struck out almost everyone.....We were 2 of the most dominating pitchers and ended up on the same rec team.....League rules only allowed each of us for 3 innings that game due to us pitching the day before or something

I pitched a No-hitter when I was 16 or 17 in a Little League All-Star district game......Walked 2 or 3 guys, there might have been an error, but I def remember it being a No-Hitter......I think we "10-runned" them though, so it lasted 5 innings instead of 7.......

I pitched every now and then in high school freshman year and jv, but the coaches didn't like me that much as a pitcher for whatever reasons......I was more of a gamer type pitcher, and when I was on, I was f'n on......We were loaded at my high school......won the state championship when I was a jr and should have when I was a sr............Honestly senior year, all of the kids that didn't play or the few that got cut could have made their own team and went better than 500 against the same high schools we played
