Quote: [Eddawg] "...Yeah, he takes a lot shit around here, and sometimes deservedly. but he's inexperienced and he will make those mistakes; sucks some of them were costly. i think the fact that he was starting says more about our talent deficiency at spot opposite Rhodes. .." You know, it just might be that the CS decided to play Elam for the same reason they decided to play Kellen -- the season wasn't going anywhere, the defense was thrown back on the field before they could catch their breath so much they just broke down, the defense couldn't stop the run, the OL couldn't block for the run or the pass... Why not give some newbies a chance to gain some experience in a trial by fire...? Elam did everything he could to play his position. He just attacked physically sometimes without thinking. Playing with your instincts is a good thing, but rookies have to hone those instincts before they should play with them alone. Elam got some valuable lessons, as did Revis, as did Kellen.
has anyone heard anyone that matters say anything about lowery playing safety? i keep hearing it on here but have never seen anything from anyone even nfl related forget about jets related about that or the thought to drafting him being as a safety. or is it just a bunch of people making shit up cause that is what they think is the right thing to do? or they look at some highlight reels and some scouting combines and figure that well he is a safety cause he this and that and the othered? i havent heard anything official about miller but i am really really hoping that he is working his way back into shape and can contribute this year at a high level. hopefully he can and he can pick up where he left off and continue to grow as a player. elam will be a good player for the jets this year, im saying and if im wrong someone can lambaste me at the end of the year but i just have a feeling with this kid, i think he can be a valuable contributor to this team this year.
Tannenbaum mentioned how he liked Lowery's versatility and ability to play both positions in a press conference. Check the official website, I believe it was the postdraft conference.
For you guys who are interested in Justin Miller's re-hab, there's a 10 March piece by Randy Lange on his rehab. Here's the link: http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/articles/show/2092-justin-miller-s-still-around-on-the-corner Also, Randy was kind enough to respond to my e-mail and indicates he has not heard anything adverse about Justin Miller's rehab and there's no reason he knows of that Justin will not be in the thick of the CB competition in training camp.
