Agreed. I think I would be really happy with either. Since I favor Wilson, I would be disappointed if we took Wilson, but I'd root hard for Fields to prove me wrong and prove that he's better than Wilson.

There are people who prefer a longer throwing motion?

Jimmy Garoppolo has a quick compact delivery. It’s one of the reasons why he’s always been overvalued in the league. Scouts love that sh!t.

that was awesome. Maybe in 2 or 3 years when Saleh is fired Leftwich can be our new coach

I still feel that Carolina might try to make one last push to get their franchise QB. They cannot feel right sitting there at 8 and now with all the QB talk pretty much confirming that none of them might be available at 8. Unless they feel very good with Kellen Mond at 8th overall?

Maybe preference is the wrong word but it’s not an issue as long as it doesn’t impact performance. It’s the same a guys w/ side arm deliveries. Back in the day scouts would ding QBs for it. Some went as far as trying to make them change their delivery to the more traditional over the top delivery which usually did more harm than good.

There are certain things that players can learn and fix while playing. There are other things that they cannot when they are preparing to play. Fundamentals and mechanics changes need isolated, focused work apart from playing until they become natural and second nature.

Christian Ponder and Bradford as well. Although Ponder was destined to be dogshit with his floaters.

Thanks! I hadn't heard about that, but I guess it's because no one here wants Jones.

Yeah, if you watch him play in live action, he can certainly make every throw, even under duress in the pocket. While in the pros that pass rush may get to him quicker, being able to get the throw off with someone on your face is relatively the same.

If I was an official scout Ponder would have had my worst grade EVER of any QB drafted in the 1st round. As a FSU fan I thought he was barely draftable. Imagine my surprise when he went in the 1st round. Still can’t believe they pay GMs millions to make these decisions. SMH

He wasn't impressive in the first one, I think that is why he came back for a 2nd go but unfortunately, he looked even worse.

The first one was talked about somewhere but can't remember which thread lol

That would have been less embarrassing than his throwing (not that being gay is embarrassing, for those that swing that way like my sister ;))

This fact can not be refuted. I might have missed reading about a Fields supporter that would also be happy with Wilson. Tolerated may be. Unlike past GM and CS, I trust our team to sift thru the smoke and BS that populates the media and make the right choice. I'll buy into whatever they decide.
But I'll say this, IMHO, love Fields or not, to categorically say that Fields is the most pro ready and low risk, coming from a college system that is the least conducive to success at the next level , as proven by 20 years of NFL QB failures in the NFL, while trashing the little old "no competition" BYU college, who already put 2 in the NFL map with SB success to boot is a bit rich.
