yeah....i saw your panel van parked outside.....don't think those kids were interested in candy that day.
doesnt matter if they make a salary cap in baseball agents will still steer their clients to the yankees because they would get the most exposure, have best facilities, most sellouts, most endorsements, best management, etc. and this is coming from a met fan.
ShadeTree takes Yankee jealousy to an unimaginable level. This should be studied. They still get the ShadeTree Award for playing all 162 games, right? All is not lost then.
Dude, they didn't just play all 162 games. They tried their best, too! I think we should take them all out for pizza and ice cream after the World Series, whatever happens.
Best thing is there is a ShadeTree award for every team in the league. Their AAA afilliates too. These types of values will make the public soon forget about the steroids and all that winning that goes on every season.
So back to Steinbrenner.....Yankee fans, start posting some favorite or some great "Boss" moments. Sending Bobby Meachum to the minors the day after he made an error to lose a game.
My "fondest" (because I can't think of a word that actually describes how I felt about it properly) memory of George was firing and rehiring Billy Martin repeatedly. How many times did it happen? For some reason I want to say 6, but that can't be right. I don't remember it because I didn't like Martin, in fact, Martin was probably my favorite Yankees manager of my lifetime, but simply because it was hilarious how he would fire him and bring him back, just to go and fire him again. One thing I'm really happy about is that he reconciled with Yogi.
