Cutler did show me he had a good arm in the Senior Bowl, but, if they moved up to #2, I doubt it would be for him. They would have to choose Leinart.

Values DONT ever change, the player is always the same no matter how much media hes getting

its the hype that changes. Cutler is getting alot, and i mean alot, more media time that Matt Leinart.

remember last year? it was Cutler who? and Leinart is similar to USC's last qb and might be more successful (palmer)

i tihnk if we need a QB of the future we cant just settle for whats there. I tihnk it would be very worth it in the long run t trade up for leinart.

now i think most people can agree that leinart id better than cutler. So if were drafting a qb that we are looking to eventually start, it is wortht he extra picks we would have to throw out there to get the best qb in the draft

Trading up would be painfully stupid. It would even be a stretch to trade up for Bush.

We are in the driver seat at #4. I would roll the dice; somebody will be there. If not, trading down and getting a decent running back is not the worst thing. We would pick up an extra second rounder and could really jumpstart our o-line for 2006.

I can't see trading up under any circumstance with this team. Trading down, yes, for the right deal.

Cutler will be a bust. Why didn't we ever hear anything about him at Vandy until late in the year. Leinart played in the same offense as Carson Palmer and played at a higher level. That's all you need to know. Leinart should be the top pick in this draft. If NY gets Leinart it will be the best thing to happen to them since Herm left town....

A mid rounder? that is going to cost us at least our second round pick.

I cant remember a guy who produced so little in college and has this much hype surrounding him heading into the draft, its ridiculous. I dont want him at all. I want us to grab my boy Deangelo Williams. Whether we take him at the four or trade down I dont care but thats the guy I want the Jets to take

As much as I like Cutler, and I was a proponant of drafting him way back when...I say don't draft a QB until we get the Oline and Dline headed in the right direction. Just look at David Carr...very similar in ability and talent to Cutler. You can't QB from your ass!

Either draft D'Brick or trade down and draft multiple guys on the O/Dlines.

Jeffri Chadiha is a graduate of Vanderbilt, same as Cutler. When you are a supporter of a football program that has been the laughingstock of the SEC for decades, you grab anything to gain a modicum of respectablity.

This article is as unbiased as Michael Irvin pimping up a Miami Hurricane.

guys, lets be fair. I do think Jay Cutler is a great prospect, maybe the best QB in this year's draft. He's got the smarts and toughness that Eric the Magician is looking for.

However, as I said previously, do we need another David Carr, or should we build the lines first and then go all out for Brady Quinn next year when we have our salary cap in order and our lines ready to block for the guy?

No, because theres no guarentee we'll be in the running for quinn next year. Also many many teams have proven that when you have the chance to get a franchise QB you do, and build the line through the draft as well.

Why does everyone keep comparing Cutler to Kyle Boller? Why not compare him to Big Ben?

Two years ago, there was a similar QB draft situation. Guess what? The third QB taken just won a Super Bowl ring...

If we trade up, we better do it to take Leinart. If we stay at #4, I'd be perfectly fine with Cutler. Taking a chance on a potential franchise QB is a risk worth taking.

As Jeff Fisher siad after he coached Cutler during the senior bowl practices, there were a lot of teams that had not yet scouted and studied Cutler. Well, since then, people have noticed, and his stock is going up. Mike Mayock is not the only draft guru that has Cutler as the #1 QB in this draft.... and Mayock said he only put Cutler there after stuying nine game films of him.

In another thread, I posted Boller's and Cutler's predraft scouting reports.... Boller had MANY more issues with his mechanics and his smarts, the comparison doesn't wash. While I am a fan of taking Cutler at 4, this team can't afford to give up draft picks, and it would be a mistake to trade up.

There are some other later round QB's that I could live with if Cutler goes before the 4 hole, but this team has to use a high draft pick on a QB to develop. In fact, I now expect either N.O. or Tennessee to take him. Fisher knows how good this kid could be.
