Then don't pay him as if he is an elite DE that gets 10+ sacks a year. He should have been asked to take a pay cut a long time ago. I don't understand why Ellis gets a pass all the time just for showing up on Sunday but fans want other Jets to be shown the door.

Agreed! He cashed in after one good year and has done nothing since.

No its because he cannot find a way to be creative in his use of stronger players, Vilma is one of the strengths of our defense as well as D-Rob in a 3-technique capacity, they are useless in this system, Mangini uses a hybrid system of 3-4 and 4-3 but somehow still fails to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of this team.

Meaningless games are the only ones John Abraham shows up in. Is it any wonder it took him 2 full seasons to give you something to try to shame people with? John Abe is a career disappointment, just as much as Ellis if not more.

If Abraham gets paid to be an elite DE even though he's constantly injured and gets embarrassed by good LTs, then Ellis isn't overpaid.

When Ellis was paid, he was a DE that showed he was becoming a double digit sack performer who was never hurt. Then he had a down year, and now he's doing a good job in a system that doesn't require him to get sacks.
