Not at all but I generally pass over his posts. It's either a rambling 5 page long diatribe or senseless one liner
Josh McCown has really grown on me. I am glad he is on the Jets and is able to mentor Sam. Watching his Post-Game presser was really great tonight. The media asked him when he needs to know who is starting and he said it did not matter. Sam and him will prepare together no matter what. I think that is great for Sam. In the future, we will look back and see what a blessing McCown ended up being for this team. Many of us (including myself) could not see it last year, but I am happy he is a part of this team.
I agree. I've mocked him at times with outlandish remarks due to his career record (winning percentage) but at the end of the day this man is a really, really good person. And I like him. He's selfless. Often times will put others before himself. Heck he has a daughter just about the same exact age as Sam Darnold; so you just know he feels as if Sam could be a son to him and will care for and do anything in his powers to see Darnold reach for success as his veteran mentor. He takes so much pride in it too. He's special in that regard. Maybe it's just me but as a man and as a Jets fan I just never once had these same types of feelings/vibes from out of Ryan Fitzpatrick - as he for whatever reason just reminded me of a gigantic prick in regards to our younger Quarterbacks that he was competing against. You just know know he'll never give a kid like Sam any type of bad advice. McCown is truly, truly a great teammate and an even bigger class act. I've learned that the greatest sports players rarely ever become great coaches. After now 17 years of NFL experience I feel and believe that Josh will one day make for an amazing QB coach and an outstanding example of a hard worker who never quit and refused to give up regardless of how much failure and letdown he's endured. Man. It sucked to see him cry after his injury last year. As a man it broke my heart I hate to see men cry because when a man cries; there is pain and hurt I once seen my dad cry when he lost his father I've never forgot. Although Football is just a game to see Josh cry was to see raw emotion, pain, hurt and love all in one. He's never loved a locker room quite like ours. I don't want him leaving our locker room after 2018 either. Bring him back as a 40 year old backup or convince him to retire and join our coaching staff either way he's to be a JET for life. You can't kick a man like this to the curb. He's a real true one.
Yep. My knock on him was he clearly was not the future of the team. Turns out neither was Petty or Hackenberg. He is helping the future (Sam) and I agree I hope he returns in 2019 as a back-up or a coach. He has my respect. Total class act.
I have nothing but tremendous respect for McCown. By all accounts, including the Darnold family, he has gone out of his way to 'adopt' and mentor Sam. He's definitely a class act and would be a worthy addition to the coaching staff when his playing career comes to an end.
