I'm liking the Raiders myself.. I love the Stadium they're in. Complete contrast to the "Air Conditioner" we play in now..
I don't see how any long term Jets fan could become a Raiders fan. After the days of Al Davis, the dirty secondaries of the Raiders, the Lamonica/Namath battles, etc., there's no way I could ever like the Raiders, even though I like Chucky.
While ive always gotten along w Raider fans most agree that Jets-Raiders does have a history & at times has been a fierce rivalry through multiple eras.
We are supposed to have a General Manager for that and a coaching staff. Mo says they would be a "buffer" between the owner and the football operation to advise on football decisions. The Jets need to communicate better from the top to the bottom, not add another layer of distance. Is there a successful team in the league that has been helped by such a thing? Just because these guys were respected as players doesn't mean they should have a part to play now or could contribute.

I like how that team plays football in 2020. I also admit I had a grudging respect for Blackjack Tatum and Dirty George back in the day. Ronnie Lott too. I'm not gonna hold the 60's and 70's against them. Today, they're not even close to the old Al Davis Raiders. In fact, the Jets could use some of the moxie and talent the Raiders displayed against the Chiefs.
Oh my god thats awful. I guess we can't even say its trending in the right direction but maybe we're at the point where at least it "can't get any worse"?
The Raiders are definitely a very good team now and are well-coached. As I said, I like Chucky, and I like a number of their players. They are just the evil empire to me even though it's been a long time since the days of David, Tatum, et al. I think part of it is their fans too. They revel in the bad boy image of yesteryear.
The 2020 Raiders are nothing like the old days and could hardly be considered evil. They also have one thing the Jets never did.. That would be a home of their own. I really love their new stadium too.
I know with my mind that they are nothing like the old, and aren't "evil", but it's more of a heart thing. I grew up hating the Raiders, and just can't like them now. I could root for the Dolphins easier than I could the Raiders.

The "Namath Days" were a lifetime ago Brook. I like how the Raiders play football in 2020 better than how the Jets pretend to play football. As I've pointed out, the 2020 Raiders share two things in common with the Davis Raiders of a generation ago. The team name and the uniform. Other than that, these Raiders are their own group and I will continue to root for them. I wish the Jets were on the same path as the Raiders. Its not like I'm rooting for the Patriots!!!
Okay boss. No judgement there. Jets are crap. You have a right to root for a secondary team until Jets are relevant again.
