Yep - totally overrated - 30 games over .500 6 division titles 7 playoff seasons -- All 7 made it to the divisional round 3 times to Championship game -- ( 2 time NFC Champion with 2 different teams) First off this was a "mutual part" not a firing. Broncos are going to go into full rebuild mode, Peyton will be gone -- Elway went "all in" with this team this year. Now that it didn't happen he needs to hit the reboot button. Fox instantly becomes the best coach on the market
There aren't really any quality candidates available. They must have their sites set on someone in particular and don't want to waste any time.
With another HC position opening in Denver, does this hurt our chances at landing a top coaching candidate? I would think that SF ATL and now Den would all be more attractive landing spots over us.
I still think Dan Quinn is the Jets guy via a wink wink deal......John Fox probably bolts to the top in Atlanta now. I wonder if the Bills are kicking themselves......
Uhhh...the guy couldn't win with Peyton manning as his QB. You think he can win with Geno and the collection of sh*t at corner and LB on this defense? I think the big concern is now there is Denver looking for a HC which likely just became the #1 attraction over Atlanta. How many 3rd time around coaches do well? I'd love to see the stats on that.
Schefter reporting "Also, one HC candidate the Broncos want to interview is Seahawks DC Dan Quinn (who doesn't?)."
I think Quinn is our guy, I think he wants to be here (local guy) and he knows what he can do with the pieces we have on defense. I would guess Atlanta would be our biggest competitor. Might be a game of chicken to see who blinks first and hires Bowles, or Bowles just goes to the one Quinn doesn't. I can see Fox going to San Francisco, they need someone exactly like him. If not SF - I can see the Bears snatching him up. He will also put together a great staff.
Defensive minded coach who knows offense and has a winning regular season record to go with his winning post season record? This is a question? Get on the plane Woody.
Pete Carroll is in his third gig And I don't think Denver jumps to number 1, I would bet money Peyton is not back next year among some others. They would have kept the coaching staff intact if he was. They went all in for this year.
I don't see them being the number 1 attraction if Peyton Manning retires, considering some of the guys on that team who are FAs. They are a win now team that might lose its aging, blue chip quarterback.
No coach ever took three teams to a Super Bowl Is John Fox going to be the guy who does it? I doubt it
Don't forget this guy won a playoff game with Tebow,Fox is a great coach id take him over Quinn in a heart beat
He's gonna go to Atlanta or Chicago,Why would he want to come here at this stage in his carrer we have no QB and we are not a win now team yet.But I would take him I just don't think he would be intrested
Apparently it was suspected that this might happen -- so that could be possible. I still think that although my old boss was high on Rex that his front office people weren't.
