They are (were) 20 million or so over the cap...they were creating room like we have been doing the last two weeks.

  2. Good point. But keep in mind one of the players they cut was their best pass rusher(trevor pryce). I just have a feeling that is no coincidence.

Somebody will scoop up Baker in a heartbeat, dammit. I like the guy and want him on our team.

Did you find details of the restructures? I didn't hear about Moore.

The Jets will keep cutting. they want to rebuild and free up cap space.

If Abe goes to Denver and we get one of their 1st rounders, I think that is a fair trade for us. Now the question is do we draft Mario at 4 or a little lower via a slight trade down?

Yeah, and this is probably why they cut Trevor Pryce.

No thank you...if we get one of Denvers first rounders we should draft Manny Lawson...take Cutler at 4

At this point i will take a first rounder for ABE in a hazy second. I am nervous the Jets will have to take what they can get and end up with a late second rounder. The reason i feel this way is the Jets have no means to pay him and keep him, he must go, and everyone knows it.

They cut Trevor because he is old and cleared up like 7 million dollars...could it be because of abe? Yeah anything is possible, but they were going to cut him regardless imo

I honestly think Tenn will snag Cutler at 3. I see Vince falling when it's all said and done, maybe to the Raiders or even further.

Can't find any details about what they did, which is annoying, but I saw Moore restructured in Newsday: http://www.newsday.com/sports/footb...47036mar02,0,4115130.story?coll=ny-jets-print

That is possible and would suck, but I still see them going after vince young...he fits so well with that team.

KFFL reported a person "close with the Jets" moved Cutler ahead of Young on their board.

Could we trade with the Texans for Carr. I know they re-signed him, but if the deal was a straight up trade WOULD the cap hit for each team be a wash??

I'd take Carr and Pennington in a second. Carr needs a year to get his feet back under him he has been shell shocked....and if Chad doees't make it ck you would have a young verteran with a big upside. Then we can go get D'Brick...

    Just wondering??

No, if we deal Abraham, to anyone, we get 0 cap hit.

Texans would get an immediate 8M hit for Carr.

Carr is awful by the way.

Wow, this is certainly turning into an exciting off-season. I'm really hoping that we traded upin the draft.

Hey, JetsIn2004, can you PM me a link if you see anything about the new deals for those three? I'm actually beginning to understand the way the NFL salary cap works. I actually understand it more than I understand physics (I think I failed the test yesterday.)
