Do you know anything about football?

LB Joey Porter have reached agreement on a five-year, $32.5 million deal that includes $20 million worth of guaranteed money. - NFl. com

LB Adalius Thomas. He signed with New England for five years and $35.00 million, between 15 -20 million guaranteed. - The boston globe

Now go to nfl.com and look up both players stats. Porter had 7 sacks last year, Thomas's had 11. Thomas can play 5 defensive position well, Porter cannot. Thomas is bigger, more athletic and far more versitile. Porter has been on the decline for years, while Thomas has been on the rise. Not only is Thomas a far better player, he has a great work ethic, and is not a loud mouth. The kicker is that Thomas could have made 9 mill a year with the niners. If you are going to be a hater, at least get your fact straight, lol.

If you think the fins got a better deal, you know nothing about football. Thomas is a better player then Porter for the same price.....

They'll still have an awful offense and their defense doesn't get any younger with this signing...but still a good pick up for the next couple of years, unless he gets shot again.

its a good signing....his best two options were us and them. And for a guy who has a ring already, its about getting paid and location. He gets to go to miami, play with jason taylor, and zach thomas, then go to the clubs afterwards.

Miami will be a good team if they can fix their offense

    PORTER a FIN!

The Dolphins didn't want to wait for Joey Porter to make a five- to six-team tour of prospective new teams.

While Porter, the former Steelers outside linebacker, was spending Monday trying to map out his trips to selected NFL cities, the Dolphins came in with an offer he couldn't refuse. Porter agreed to a five-year, $32 million contract that includes $20 million in guarantees.

The Steelers released him a week ago because they didn't have plans to sign him after his contract ran out in 2007. With several key starters entering the final year of their contract, the Steelers had to be selective and Porter became a salary cap casualty.

The minute he became a free agent, his phone was ringing. Porter had enough offers to visit most of the teams that run a 3-4 defense and few, including Cincinnati, that run a 4-3. He chose to play for Dom Capers' 3-4 unit in Miami.

Porter wanted to take the weekend to settle himself and find a new spot. On Monday, he started to put together a plan of trips. Then the Dolphins entered the picture and worked out a contract. Knowing he was one of the top defensive players available, Porter accepted a deal from the Dolphins before making other visits.

Last season, Miami's biggest need was O-line. Suppose they are lucky and Quinn falls to their first pick. That means it will be slim pickins for the O-line in the draft. And they haven't made any O-line moves in free agency yet. How much cap space do they have to make such moves right now anyway? Or, if Quinn doesn't fall to them, they could potentially beef up their O-line and still have no QB. Either way, the Dolphins offense is going to suck and their defense, even with three aging superstars, is not going to win games for them.

It's not too hard to look at the board and see if a) the topic belongs in that particular forum and b) has it already been posted. That's the one thing that drives me completely crazy!!

Ummm, hasn't everyone been saying the same kind of things about your QB situation for the last 4 years?? Hows that turned out for you? Daunte's had nearly two full seasons to recover from his knee injury. I guess since you're a Jet fan your QB can recover and return to the field, but Miami's QB can't??

porter inked a deal with the phish

this sucks....another solid defender on the phins.....they might still suck, but theyll lose because their offense blows...not their defense.
