What? How do u come up to that conclusion? One of the ALL TIME GREAT NFL QB? I didn't get to see him play, but judging from his stats alone, SB3 was about the only great thing he did in his career. He had only two season where he threw more TDs than Ints (one of which was his rookie yr) and his completion % stayed right about 50. Sure enough he went to 4 pro bowls, but that sort of completion percentage and TD:Int ratio doesn't make u one of the all time great nfl QBs.

I love the fact that he won us a SB, but whenever I've seen him, he's been pretty much drunk as of late. And this photo shoot was pretty creepy. That is not the sort of icon I had hoped for.

The key words in your post are "I didn't get to see him play." I have never heard anyone who has seen him play reach your uninformed conclusion. The day you can tell about an NFL player's abilities and career by reading a football encylclopedia is the day football becomes . . . .baseball. Namath is in the HOF, which makes him one of the greatest QBs in history and he is unquestionably the greatest Jet of all time. If you are going to do some research, compare his stats to his peers and look at his All-AFL and All Pro appearances. And maybe look up the All-time AFL team while you are at it.

I saw him play and he was great and exciting and gave this franchise a face and identity that it has not had since.
