Dan Marino never won a Super Bowl. Are you gonna say he wasn't a great QB?

I am not trying to throw cold water I am discussing reality. The reality is we had a great team BUT that great team had a HUGE advantage of having to win 1 playoff game at HOPE against a team that beat the Jets that year, had a better record AND a team that had to playoff a playoff game a week earlier so we had all the advantages. They deserve all the credit in the World for beating Oak and beating Baltimore BUT that doesn't take away the fact that we had tremendouis advantage that I don't think any other SB CHamp has had.

'66 Dal-Had home game against team w/ better record but didn't play GB in reg season and GB didn't play the week earlier.
'66 Buf- had home game against team w/ better record but they had split w/ KC and KC didn't play a game the week before.
'67 Oak-They had to win 1 home game to get to SB BUT at least they had a better record than Houston, they beat Hou in the reg season AND Houston didn't play the week before while Oak was on a bye.

It's a little different comparing a player and a team, wouldn't you agree?

I will be posting some pics this week. Been really busy, and I just got two more discs of photos from my dad that he got from the Jets. They are pictures from the dinner, the halftime ceremony, and with them holding the trophy in the locker room. GO JETS!

That is not a bad point. WHen the NFL passer rating was devised in the early 70's, the average passer rating was considered to be- ready, 65-66. Namath might have been better than that! although that rating would not even get you an extension these days. Different eras, different offenses. The AFL was about the pass- loved IT! OH and Defense too! (Willie Lanier and Buck Buchanan)
