Well, if Douglas and Saleh refuse to find another QB to replace Zach, then they should be fired. Otherwise, they are doing a decent job.
At a certain point, the player doesnt deserve the criticism any longer. Its on the GM and Coaches who are in the building every day.
He was just frustrated and venting. He isn’t wrong though about Zach. It’s unfair to say they can’t pick the players.
Joe also said he liked Mike White, thinks he is a good QB. I always said Mike needs protection to play well, and would get folded in half again against Dallas. But on Sunday with good pass pro that we had, Mike easily wins that game. It's time to roll our Boyle. No, he is not Mike White, but at this point Zach is in the same exact state as he was before Jacksonville game on primetime. He should not be playing. I would have already signed someone like Wentz and see if he could be ready for Sunday. But given we don't have anyone still (how is that possible) let's see what Boyle can do. After all, we invested in him all offseason, what was the point if he can't even come on the field.
I’d sign Wentz today and let him start on Sunday. This game will probably be rough regardless of what they do and if they fall into a 1-3 hole with Wilson under center the player melt downs will be just at bad as the TGG ones.
When Joe talks we ALL should listen My boyhood hero owns the original guarantee of the only Jets SB victory! Joe would make a great Jet GM or consultant Woody NEEDs a trusted voice not the opportunist sycophants he has around him >> JD and Bob S
totally disagree...he should speak up and put the pressure on this administration to make some needed changes..
He was spot on. There needs to be changes top down. Joe has always been a company man but he finally told some hard truths. I saw Rodgers today on McAfee take a shot at Joe and all the negativity. I'm thinking this douche bag mercenary who pissed all over the Packers who paid him 450 million and helped him have an unbelivable career is pissing on Namath. Rodgers can go f himself. Namath can say anything he wants. He earned it and gave his body to this franchise.
Joe namath and tony romo have never criticized quarterbacks really, joe Namath used to be on ray Lucas”s jock strap. That’s how you know Zach Wilson needs to be cut today. Everything joe said here needs to be done today. Infact hire him as a consultant today, the hurt in his voice says it all.
Rodgers won’t endear himself to the fanbase by attacking Joe Namath. If you thought the Packers were tired of you running your mouth, keep it up with the face of the franchise.
someone who played 4 snaps for this franchise should not even open his mouth about someone who won a Super Bowl.joe Namath bled for this franchise, Aaron rodgers is in Malibu now smoking payote and on his darkness retreat again right now
Careful some say he's the greatest GM ever, well if you like finishing in the bottom 5 of the NFL every year! Zero improvement, 7 wins
Rodgers did call out his teammates for sideline antics. That’s more than Saleh did. He’s wrong for saying “you’re not helping” though. Former players and fans have every right to be critical. They don’t work for the team.
I have to agree with Namath, it’s time to clean house. But with one caveat, the next hire can NOT have the same boneheaded strategy as JD to tear down everything and wait 5 years for any possible window. 5 years is a lifetime in the NFL. That approach wasn’t necessary then, and it isn’t necessary now. Good GMs build upon what’s there and turn things way quicker.
It's piling on. We know Zach can't play, stop bashing the kid like he's Ryan Leaf or Jamarcus Russel, both cancers. Better to ask why Daniel Kelly and 1 or 2 others knew Zach would be a bust...and our FO and draft "experts" didn't.
The point of Boyle was to ensure no competition to Zach. Was same reason they continued to bring in Flacco. We gonna have the same results based on those decisions, a sunk season.
Well if JD built an NFL OLine, Mike White would be all this team needed….esp the way the defense is built and our offensive weapons. Instead we have picks like Ashytn Davis, Denzel Mims, Elijah Moore, LaMichel Perine, James Morgan, Jabari Zuniga, etc.. All high draft picks we never used taking up roster spots when we could have drafted interior OL talent and depth
