junc defends Herman Edwards, Mick.........believe me, you don't need to justify yourself to him.
Oof, I'm just going to ignore the rest of the thread and say that I hope that the staff gives McKnight a shot in some games the rest of the way. Sure, he's stupid and struggling to learn how to do everything, but there's got to be SOME way that he can get involved in the offense a bit. The Pats just showed us what speed can do to a defense. It's great to have LDT and Greene, but speed demons they are not. For one of those guys to break a huge run they need a lot of things to happen, for McK to do it he just needs a seem. I know, who knows what he's actually capable of with zero experience, but at this point it can't hurt. If he can't learn sitting on the bench, then let's see if he can do it on the fly.
I sure Cotchery is glad he finally got a chance, no thanks to the Herminator. It's time for Joe McK to get more playing time.
its for all who read it. The game is so tiresome. I don't like NASCAR, all they do is go in a circle.
I am in a thread where people are telling me(I already knew it) that players develop at different rates then someone comes in here and blames Herm for not giving Cotch a chance although he(the OC) did. he didn't play much as a rookie though he did return some kicks but in year 2 he played alot, the problem was we played most of that year w/ a 4th string QB- Brooks Bollinger.
You guys crack me up, all the facts are against you but you will continue to try to pile on me. If I just joined this site I wouldn't evemn think half of you guys watched football.
I'm just wondering, if McKnight gets some non-garbage time carries this week, will it indicate a sudden trust from the staff that did not exist today?
Absolutely, if he gets meaningful touches going forward that will be a great sign. Maybe they trust him today and maybe they will give him touches on Sunday? but they haven't demonstarted any turst through 12 games.
We know Herm isn't the brightest guy on the planet, the facts are on film. Cotch played alot in year 2, it had more to do w/ an awful OL, QB and RB situation than it did w/ playing time.
So if he gets one carry midway through the 3rd quarter when we're up 14-3, it's an indication of new found trust?
I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other about McKnight yet, I don't know much about him. I do want to see him succeed because he's a Jet and also to make people stop whining about woodchuck. I'd be ecstatic if he did something useful outside of special teams this week.
we kept him because where he was drafted and not because of his play. if he was a 6th or 7th rd choice he would have been cut and woodhead would still be on this team. woodhead should have been looked at as the future of LT's position. LT is only going to be good for another year or two as a role player. woodhead, as we now know, would have been his replacement.
wow. Incorrect. If he were a 6-7 rounder he'd be on the practice squad due to his potential. He'd get one year and a full camp to prove himself. Woodhead is a role player in an offense that suits his strengths. Rex says the same damn things. Everyone says the same damn thing. He plays the Kevin Faulk role. He gets 10 touches a game and cannot see 25 touches a game, therefore he's not suited for the LT postion. He's suited to be a 3rd down back and he should not be overrated as anything more. He's very effective as a 3rd down back in the spread offense.
