The main argument for those of us saying be patient with him was that he had two pretty good backs ahead of him... didn't stop the hate from pouring in.
For some it was his poor pre-season and his conditioning. ...but for a lot of others, it was his lack of production.
Of course, they're also at different points in their careers. Woodhead was in his 3rd season when he hit the yardage total McKnight hit in his first game.
I just found it a little disappointing they didnt throw McKnight the ball at all. I mean you gave the guy a crapload of touches, so why not see what he does on those short passes/screens ? Isnt that what guys like him are built for anyway
????? Joe McKnight: 2 catches for 15 yards and Brunell's pick 6 was intended for McKnight. Indianapolis delenda est.
Well, then "a lot of others" are pretty freakin stupid. You can't produce when you don't play. Ask Danny Woodhead.
Which it was then stated that he hadn't had a chance to prove he had fixed yet. All we knew was what Rex told us, which was that he had shown improvement. We all know how the rest of the conversation would go.
Yea this is getting a little carried away here. Lets wait on this one and just be happy with the potential he's shown late in the season.
He still looked slow against Buffalo. Night and day from the beginning of the season, but I still didnt see a great burst through the hole.
First, to judge the entire Jets fan base, which consists of well over 100k fans, just from the incredibly small sample of posters on this site, is silly. To be honest, this site seems to be in a world unto itself at times, with regard to fan opinion. That said, it's about the underdog, not the "white guy", as I mentioned before and as others have as well. The one's on this site who bring up the "Chrebet syndrome" are more fixated on race than anyone else. See back to the Gerhart/FB draft debate. I find it all to be very ironic...
I think everyone should stop doing mental evaluations of each other and just move on. Everyone liked Woodhead's story but for some reason some people latched onto it for far longer than others did. Some people call that Chrebet Syndrome while others just want to call it an underdog story. As with most things that develop two distinct sides the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.
We should have drafted James Starks in the 6th instead of Joe McKnight in the 4th. ---Just trying to be funny on a Monday---
