Joed D failed massively in rating talent both NCAA and NFL. End of. Bottom five offenses year after year, 7th worst is his BEST year.
Thats abysmal, man. He chose the groceries. Bad evaluator of talent. End of.

Judging by the way every one of them acted after the trade, they all thought Rodgers was going to single-handedly save their careers, except Woody who was looking at him like a very intimidating golden goose. They can all point fingers but things were stupid before he showed up, too.

I think that Woody is pissed that he was told all they needed was a QB. Remember, 2 years ago was 100% Zach’s fault. They go get a QB, last year happens. Again, all they need is a QB. Team is healthy, QB they wanted, and completely uncompetitive. My guess is Douglas blamed Salah, Salah Douglas. Salah gets fired, team is still shit. Douglas gets fired. I am sure woody is pissed Sam Darnold is doing well and Jets had top 3 picks for QB twice nd didn’t make it happen.

Yeah, I agree something snapped in Woody, could be the game in Europe against Darnold, because firing coaches and GMs mid-season is drastic.

Woody should have learned something in the quarter of a century that he has owned an NFL franchise. Joe Douglas has not once put a stable offensive line on the field and they went out and got a 40 year old passer with that knowledge.

He did learn something. He learned how to take the gift of the culture that Parcells left him and run it completely into the ground. It's a testament to Parcells and his staff and those that immediately followed him that the culture he built lasted as long as it did.

Beating a dead horse but it's amazing how incapable Woody is of thinking for himself and coming to the correct conclusion. MLF should've been made head coach, not fired. Rodgers' presence didn't suddenly make Saleh a good coach or JD a good GM. They should've been replaced sooner.

Woody is completely incapable of nuance. It blows my mind.

You'd think he'd absorb at least some football knowledge just by being around the league for so long, but no. The only thing I can think of is that he gets all of his football opinions from a small group of people who are all morons. And none of them ever challenge each other so they've created an echo chamber of retardation.

Woody certainly is not the sharpest knife in the drawer, and he should have definitely fired JD and Saleh last year, but to make MILF a head coach is a stretch. While he is way better than shit we have today, our offense was towards the bottom of the NFL for the two years with MILF too. You don't make someone a HC based on that.

Yeah man. We all watch football every week and based on some of the consensus opinions here around first and second round draft picks and maybe some medium level free agent signings I think we could’ve put together a playoff team.

Yet Woody’s nepotistic ass is fielding the biggest joke of a franchise in all of professional sports because he’s probably too busy drinking blood gravy on Sundays rather than watching games.

"O my gosh what was a LEAK?!" "WHO whispered this unbelievable nary truth?"
Some of you just talking nonsensical, self-deluded blabbering like southern belle's in the southern heat. I do declare! There's been LEAKS! The funny part is there will absolutely be more information coming out, the fact folks out here trying to convince themselves it's all sour grapes will be fun to watch as this unfolds. "Never mind these lowly facts, it's those damaging leaks that's the real problem!!" I am going to enjoy these same folks up on these threads poo-pooing the completely obvious reality that half a brain cell can see just by reading the new york news over the last few years. And all in defense of this dipsy-doodle owner. Oh btw, this turd blossom literally considers you his mark. Unless you are posting up for him specifically, which I am starting to think makes more sense than people actually being this gullible. Speaking of which, maybe start by learning the difference between a person to be hired to run football operations and a GM. One is over the other. Not sure how that works, but you're confident on what a "leak" is? Makes total sense.

Objectively, JD's track record with the Jets was terrible. That being said, how do you even judge any one player, Coach, GM, executive from this franchise? The organization is collectively so dysfunctional that I sometimes think it's not even possible to know who's good and who's bad.

Well, JD was in fact the head of all football operations. He reported directly to the owner. Who btw by all accounts didn't meddle until the very end year 6 when he should have fired him a year or two ago. JD got his choice of 3 QBs: Sam, then high draft pick, then veteran. He gave Sam terrible supporting cast. If you remember he promised to his parents to protect him. How did it work out? Picking Becton over Wirfs to protect Sam. Sam ended up with awful line and no weapons. Perriman was his #1. Yes Perriman. He had no OL, no WRs, and no TEs. Frank Gore on the last legs as his RB.

JD then proceeded to draft a bust in Zach with #2 overall and also never protected him with good OL. And yet he got another chance to get a QB, this time going with Rodgers. And once again failed to protect him, with Rodgers getting hurt his 1st year when the defense was still good. Poor back-up QBs that came in that year took turns being tackling dummies behind likes of Carter Warren, Billy Turner, Max, and Duane. None of these players are even rosterable, He finally built a decent O line in his 6th year here, but Rodgers at that time us a shell of his former self, plus he fucked the DL, and also failed to address the kicker when it was clear Greg sucked in preseason.

And these were not the worst decisions JD has made. He really fucked up the coaching situation. All the talent he assembled looks worse because of incompetent coaching. And he did assemble some good talent, to give him credit. It's that he really fucked, QB, OL, and Coaching for his entire tenure here. And when he finally fixed OL at the end, he fucked other areas. Basically I think JD has some very good qualities, but just can't quite build a complete team or trusted in selected a coach or QB. I think he can actually be a good assistant GM, but needs someone above him to make the most important calls.

Woody was involved deeply in every important decision that resulted in the last 5 years of inept QB play. This is because normal people know that starting a rookie when they are clearly not ready is not going to somehow lift this franchise out the dumps. Someone that actually knows how a team functions wouldn't force the first time head coach to start a rookie without a net and essentially surrounding him with trash QBs for two years, and then when that didn't work, usurp him behind a 40 year old dude past his prime that is prima donna and is bad for a young impressionable team that is on the cusp of doing something positive. All this is without question covered completely in the local, national media. There are dozens of players, coaches, executives that have spoken about how stupid this team is being run THE WHOLE TIME. This is not confusing unless you desire to be confused. I mean by all means, keep making excuses and weakly kick the guy who worked tirelessly for this franchise and who will absolutely get another gig and will absolutely be successful. The league is onto Woody and his stupid decisions.

LOL, Speaking of making excuses... I am not excusing the owner. He hired bad people and it is ultimately on him. He is definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Multiple things can be true.

But JD failed - it's just a fact. I think he will be successful as assistant GM, but he failed as our GM, and should have been fired way earlier.
