and who on the roster has better numbers? and you also need to include his playoff numbers where he had a few big returns including one for a TD (forget the team they played) ... oh, and desean jackson has 5 PR fumbles, hes still one of the best in the league at it

If Rex says we'll be ok, then we'll be ok.

I can't imagine a shin (and not calf) injury being anything but a break. At this point in the year he's probably going to be IRed. He wouldn't be ready until the divisional week of the playoffs and even then might not be at 100%. Granted this assumes this is a standard break, if it's anything more serious he's done for the year. But hey, it might not be so bad. Maybe he'll be back week 17.

And is it me or are more guys getting injured in practice this year than in any year before? The Giants had Smith go down, I believe the Broncos lost Dumervil in practice, and I think Leigh Bodden got hurt during a practice to (though it may have still been training camp at that point).

I doubt Cotchery will be returning punts coming back from that injury. He's not 100%.

    I think it's Kyle Wilson's time.

Eric Smith has been praised for his intelligence before. He started last week and was again praised for that and his help in the defensive communication. The result was one of the better defensive performances of the season.

It's certainly a cause for concern but I think we have a very good replacement. Bad timing for sure.

Eric Smith is definitely mentally capable, but he's not on the field on a lot of passing downs.

Unless that changes now, I doubt he gets the job.

Lowery and Pool should be ahead of him when they are on passing downs with 2 safety personnel.

Rex would say we'll be ok if we were starting Westerman at quarterback and Lowrey at the nose.

I don't trust Kyle yet and I don't think the CS does either. If Cotch is healthy he'll be back there b/c at the very least we know he is going to catch the ball.

Really shitty news. I was feeling extremely good about this game, but not so much anymore. Pressuring Brady will still be the key IMO, so maybe having Smith on the field more won't be such a bad thing... we'll see.

The 8 YPR average is hardly worth the risk when almost 10% of his returns were fumbled. I'd rather let cotchery fair catch the damn ball.

Injuries suck but they really suck when they happen in practice. We'll survive, he was important but we'll be ok.
