How about that return by sproles and he fumbled and Norv Turner was practically there recovering the fumble himself... No flags nothing thats whats the bullshit IMO.. And the refs cant say they didnt see him he stood right there for the longest..

He's a strong little guy and tough as nuts. Rhodes, someone who appears to have more physical ability than Leonhard, could take a leaf out of his book and show some of the determination and toughness that he does. I haven't seen Leonhard back away from a tackle.

I apologize if this is a repeated post but I was wondering if someone could make a .gif of the forced fumble (and yes that was a forced fumble). I love watching this man play he is always exciting, and I think he makes his best plays without a helmet on...

He got a shiner from that forced fumble. was great effort.

If I'm giving game balls out as a fan, i give them to (no particular order):
    Rex Ryan
    Jim Leonard
    Shonn Greene

also honorable mention to Nate Kaeding..

Yeah he shoulda been wearing White and Green out there...

Leonhard always plays with great effort from what I see, (unlike Edwards btw) I really appreciate seeing players with heart.

He played in the Pats game with a broken hand, or fingers. Guy gives it all for his team.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I have loved this guy since the start. He's been instrumental in getting the team molded in the image Rex envisioned. He's a warrior out there.

I call him "playoffs Jimmy" because he shows up big in the playoffs, regular season that's another case

Correct props to Jimmy Leonhard I think if you asked most jet fans at the beginning of the year how much they expected out of Leonhard they would probably not have really high expectations but man this guy is going all out all play every day great guy to have on the team love him to death

I know this second best defender on the team is bothering people, but I somewhat agree. Harris has been really good but Leonhard almost always makes a big play he hits hard causes some fumbles, hard nosed tackler, and has a couple of pick. Like I said Harris is really good but I could see the argument to Leonhard as our second best defensive player

Funny, in the thread you made a week ago you wanted to draft a safty early to replace him because he was the weak link in our defensive backfeild.

Jim Leonhard might not be the second, third, or even fourth best player on the defense, but I think he's definitely been one of the most important players on the entire team. His ability to come in and be a leader in this defensive backfield has been huge, just like Scott coming in for the linebackers. He doesn't tend to make a ton of plays, but that's not really what his job seems to be. He makes big plays often just by making consistent plays, which is what this team has often needed most.

Plus, he's making my Adopt a Jet pick look really good for once (damn Cactus).

He's a fighter, a warrior, Jim Leonard has a warrior's mentality. He'll hit you as hard as it takes to win. I'll take a guy like him to have my back in a dark alley anytime. The Jets are loaded with a few with that mentality these days, Leonard is a prime example.

Jim Leonhard is a smart, tough, overacheiving player, a good punt returner, a players's player, but Jim has to pick up the deep safety responsibility better, on Moss's Td he should have helped Antonio over the top...he's constantly out of position on deep balls leaving the CB's alone with deep responsibility

To be honest there wasn't much any safety could do there other than maybe someone with the speed of Polamalu. Pool had a delayed blitz so Leonard had to stay on his side of the field pre-snap to not give it away. After the snap he had to sprint towards Moss to double and it took a perfect pass to complete that play. Most safeties wouldn't have made it there. With that said he's been a liability on a number of other pass plays this year.

Leonhard is probably my favorite or 2nd favorite player right now; he's smart, a good tackler, an effective blitzer, and an overall good player. JL can be a liability in coverage which is why we need a real FS opposite him. Pool is ok, but he is nothing special.

Get a rangy, ball-hawking FS in the draft who complements Leonhard better. We could've had Nate Allen or Morgan Burnett last year; don't miss out on a good safety again Tanny.

Don't know if it's been posted before or not but his "Dream Big" foundation has some cool #36 products (tshirts, hoodies, etc) and all proceeds go to the NFL's apparent-favorite charity: breast cancer. (Unike Braylon's Beard tshirts for Detroit's inner city youth education.)
