I don't think we're talking about the same things.

It is a great disrespect to Sandy Koufax to even compare the two.

Sandy Koufax didn't complain - he made a decision to stand up for his beliefs despite the possibility it could potentially result in not only the loss of the World Series for himself but also for his teammates in the process. He made a sacrifice to uphold his beliefs and was ridiculed at the time.

The NFL flipped the schedule because people complained. The irony is that the complaints are based upon an inconvenience and conflict with the requirements of those indiviudals particular faith. It is clear those fans are not concerned about their faith but with the inconvenience and injustice they belief to have been unfairly burdened with. Most religious beliefs systems are based on the premise that the individual must sacrifice and make hard / unpopular decisions that do not necessarily conform to accepted norms or even their personal desires. I am not sure how the NFL switching the time of the game to make it more convenient meshes with the idea and purpose of sacrificing by fasting and the spiritual requirements of prayer in preperation for Yom Kippur.

At the end of the day it doesn't really matter to me. This entire outcry simply illustrates what people in society today value more.

It wasn't like that. Jetophile in particular wrote a lot of nasty things about Catholics.

It's funny that he wrote all that to you considering how religious he claims to be.

Who cares???!!! At the time, Jeto was trashing everything & everybody.

She is off on a sabbatical, taking a course in "how to write something positive in a post" I believe.

Either that, or her and Sundayjack have run off on a Caribbean cruise on JoeJet's yacht.

    That was my reaction.

Here tonight I was simply backing typeOnegative13NY's comment by posting a fact.

Does not sound like it had anything to do with values.

It just sounds like, "look at me, look at me."

It would be unfortunate if anyone was offended by Jeto's comments, especially about Catholics.

For some unknown reason, Jeto was just full of hate & venom towards the world, at that time.

This here is the point. When it's something agaisnt Christianity,it's no big deal. When it's about anything else the world turns upside down and everyone gets slapped with a label. I don't really care what she said either, but it just proves the point how much hypocracy there is.

I believe that the "right wing Christian movement" would disagree with you on that.

All they had to do was invite Rick Warren to speak at the Inaugaration and half the country got their panties tied in an uproar.

Now the Mormons are taking an incredible beating for brow beating their flock about gay rights.

    Every religion takes hits.

That is what makes our country so great! We can all mouth off to our hearts delight. In some countries we would not even be allowed to have any religion.

Well,i have to shop for ornaments for my "Holiday tree" and say "happy Holidays" now. Try changing other religions holidays like that. It won't go over well. Christianity is the one that takes the biggest hits these days. It's gotten so bad that it's required that it's not observed in public in many places, yet for others,we'll now turn the world upside down at request and change pro sports schedules.

edit-I don't have to do those things anymore now that I live in the south. It was like that in the northeast.

For next year's awards, there should be a "Worst Thread" award, and it should be named after this one. I don't think this thread has a single redeeming quality.

I wondered if any Titans fans had an issue with the time change and also the Christmas game.
