I dont think Tebow is only playing inside the 1 or 2 yard line. Even the 5-10 is likely Tebow Time But I think thats where Sanchez is most deadly. Dont get me wrong this Tebow move has definitely grown on me, and I think its gonna help our team out in general. It just worries me that it might also have some negatives on Mark
It's not really "people." It's one post by me, on the internet. No need to tremble that a new thing is being said by "people." I don't know if you noticed, but Sanchez got crucified last year. And even the year before that there was some rumbling starting to build. Now he's going to get the solid endorsement of commentators. Doesn't mean he doesn't deserve it, but Tebow has a way of polarizing everybody. It's like, if you start hammering on Sanchez, people will think you are really trying to be Skip Bayless and get Tebow in there. And there's no need to "laugh" if the Jets start off strong and keep on winning -- that's what is supposed to happen. That's what the whole goal is. If things go right, Tebow will never start here. The clamor in Denver would have never built without Orton losing so many games as a starter. (By they way -- Orton is a decent quarterback).
Sometimes I think the Tebow move is more about a concern that the run game (and RB's) can't get it done.
We need Holmes out there though, he can't be injured. The WR Corps is banged up enough as it is and we need a deep threat out there or it's going to be like last season over again on offense. I hope the offense just gets in rhythm early and often, and it starts with the QB.
Thats what I've thought since day 1. Our run game has lost that homerun element especially since the wildcat was put on the shelf without Brad Smith. So what do we do? We get the backup QB that everyone wanted to push Sanchez who also happens to be the best player in the NFL at running the wildcat. He has played QB in the league so defenses can't put 9 in the box expecting the run. They have to at least respect the pass. I love the Tebow pickup as long as he never becomes a starting QB here. I also hope to see Tebow line up at HB occasionally but who knows if that will happen.
I think the bold is wrong. Sanchez and the Jets went 11-5 the year before and Sanchez had all those memorable plays and comebacks. He looked like a QB that could make a jump after the 2010-2011 year. The worrisome thing of that year (besides distractions) was 1st quarter scoring which fell on Schotty. There were little to no rumblings after 2010-2011 season.
Operative point is that many people who might have had misgivings/doubts about Sanchez have circled the wagons around him, vis a vis, Tebow. At least, thats' the way I took Bannon's comments.
