No chance. Hitting on those third/fourth/fifth round picks are key now. Getting good young players cheap and under team control are how you build a consistent winning team. Seattle is primed for a 3 or 4 year run because of their late round draft picks. Wilson/Sherman/Chancellor all late in the draft and all very good players. Moving up for a WR is a silly move that reeks of desperation IMO. I know the chance that we hit on all 4 picks is very low, but imagine if we did. That's four solid starters. I prefer we take the chance on drafting 4 players rather than moving up for one receiver.
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, Free agency to fill needs, the draft to stock talent Too many needs. BPA all the way. Trade down whenever possible.
No, that's something the Tannenbaum Jets would do or the current Dolphins would do. It's dumb in most situations.
If we were guaranteed Lee or Evans at 18 I wouldn't do it......but I think we are due for a lot of compensation picks so I'd consider it.
I would rather have a guaranteed receiver superstar, than some hope that our 4 late rounders contribute to the team... Chances are 3 of them only see special teams. Isn't even a question.
Yea I would trade the picks for Calvin Johnson. But we're not discussing a guaranteed superstar WR. We could be talking about Mike Williams or Charles Rogers. Sammy Watkins is in no way a guaranteed superstar. It's that kind of thinking that puts a team in depth hell.
This and I dont find as much value in WRs and RBs. With all those picks we would be giving up, we would be better off drafting WR's with every single one of those picks, and I bet we would be able to find one that could match the productivity of Watkins. The Falcons could have had guys like Torrey Smith and Randall Cobb instead of Jones, AND would have had a 1st round pick the next year which they could have potentially used to draft Alshon Jeffery. Id rather throw 5 darts t at non-lock WRs rather than trade up and have to lose all 5 darts for one WR who is more of a lock BUT could potentially bust anyway.
"According to Mehta" = read no further. "Only giving up a 2nd round pick?" No....no matter how you try and swing it you're giving up a 2nd rounder and two 3rd rounders, that's 3 draft picks. No thanks Tanny.
Not a chance, your logic is definitely very twisted. Especially considering how deep the WR class is in this draft we can even draft 2 guys if we want, and when it all washes out half the time a WR drafted late in the first or second are better producers than top 20 picks, so that would be a terrible move.
If the Jets actually did that I probably wouldn't be able to sleep for a week. Idzik doesn't roll like that. He's not trading away THAT much for an early first that isn't a QB and isn't even guaranteed. Anybody that would take 1 high projected WR, over a WR, TE, QB & Safety or OL, with the needs we have, needs to lay off the crack. Hell, I like our position in this draft, but I'd be all about doing the opposite and trading some picks down for more picks. There are quite a bit of WR/TE prospects. It would be a shame to gamble our future on ONE WR, and would make us a bigger joke than the Redskins making that ridiculous trade for RG3. I'd rather take 2 WRs and a TE in the late first/2nd than just one in the first and one in the 2nd but that's just me. I feel that they'd be more likely to hit a home run on one of them, than taking the big gamble. Look at Justin Blackmon. Everyone was loving him, and he completely blew it. He may make a comeback, but things aren't looking so good right now. Imagine trading up for him?
I am only messing with you brother... When I scroll past it I always say, who keeps posting this picture? Oh yea, that's Barc's sig.
Ah well, I reduced it anyway. I could see it dominating the pages. It was easy to find my last post, though
