Holmes production has been garbage. Holmes support has been garbage. Holmes leadership has been garbage.

    1) zero 100yd games
    2) zero 10 catch games
    3) can't sustain a block/ hits no one / blocks no one
    4) takes plays off
    5) drops the football
    6) fumbles the football
    7) can't get up field
    8) shits on his linemen
    9) shits on his QB
    10) quits on his team

One, one redeeming quality is the ESPn highlight catch he makes <10x a year. It was a questionable resigning that happened bc Edwards was such a fucking idiot and with cotchery leaving we had to bring in someone mark was familiar with. Unfortunately, for the Jets we got captain cancer.

#24 should finish the 2012 season before there is any, more, talk of money. That said, #24 has proven to me he backs his shit up on the field (outside of missing the tebow tackle((that was soft))) love revis, love his play on the field, hope he plays for a long time and retires a faithful member of the Jets.

Giants won two Superbowl's. Two common threads.....pass rush and clutch offensive play when needed.

How does this relate to a CB?

I think Revis is very good. I do not know that you can call him the "best" defensive player in the NFL... Are there any three def players you would take over him, right now, today?

I can think of at least 10 I would rather have than the "best CB". Especially at 15-20 million a year! He guards one guy!

No offense, he is great, just not worth the money that a top flight DE or even a great DL are to a team.

Mevi$ is back and as far as I care, he can hold out each year. We will save a lot of cap space and can move Wilson over.

Fuck him, once agin he is turning a good week into shit. I was high on the draft until I heard this shit again. I will never buy one of his jerseys.

I agree- If I were the Jets FO, I would be like, sorry my good man, but your under contract to play for a mere $6.5mil or so for the next two years, stop Stevie Johnson and whoever the Pats throw at you, it is your job, your good at it, so shut up and play.

Tanny needs to show some backbone or this will be a pattern.

I'm the biggest Revis fan there is but if he holds out again I would say FUCK YOU REVIS u are now under contract with us for 5 years now so just sit at home and watch your fines keep piling up. Plus watch the prime of your career past u by. Then after being out of football for 5 years good luck finding someone who will sign u. If u do find someone to sign have fun with the league mim.

"If Revis does hold out, it will trigger three more years at $3 million per season on his contract. "

So if he holds out , the Jets can say have fun watching for the next five years, or find us a trade we will except, like two 1st and a 2nd in compensation.

Jets should stand pat and say we have you for five years. The are saying it was a bandaid contract, but the clause above makes me think the team was thinking ahead. A no hold out clause is very smart. The team has all the power and should flex the muscle. Hell encurrage the holdout. I hope he does at least for one day.

Schefter said that yesterday as well and he says the Jets are well aware of it.

That is totally untrue. First off the contract already has those three years and they get voided if he attends OTAs and camp. If he holds out during the regular season then nothing happens and the three years still get voided.

This isn't fantasy football, it's real life football, it's about winning games not putting up great individual #s. He was a HUGE part of the team winning 11 games in '10 then nearly making the SB. I'll take game winning ctaches, catches that set up GW FGs, drawing a PI to score the GW TD over 100 yud games.

He's a playmaker, you want 100 yd games in meaningless moments? go get Brandon Marshall and never go to the playoffs.

In each one they had 3-4 great pass rushers, again most of 2011 JPP was playing great and the D was mediocre to bad b/c osi and Tuck missed many games. The D played great when those 2 were healthy along w/ JPP. W/ zero pass rush revis was the biggest reason we were a top 5 D for 2 years.

He's not very good, he's GREAT and I very rarely call players great. There isn't a player in the league better at their position than revis is at his. there are certainly more valuable positions and more valuable players but no one is better at their position than revis is.

Guys like Ngata, reed(if healthy), Willis are probably more valuabl;e b/c of the positions they play but again no player is better at their position than revis is.

    Wait what?
Can you, or someone please clarify this. The no hold out clause is only for OTA's and camp?

I have read that at least a dozen different places but here is one of them.

"The Jets can't exercise the franchise tag after the 2013 season. As a holdout deterrent, the contract extends by three years (through 2016) if Revis skips training camp."

    http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...e-revis-new-york-jets-dances-contract-holdout

    another

Revis’ contract is actually a 7 year contract that voids into a 4 year deal if Revis does not hold out and miss any offseason team activities during the next 2 years.

    Thanks.
Jeez, so from the looks of it, Revis, not the JETS has the upper hand in this situation. Basically he can go to camp, and just sit out the season? This looks like its going to get ugly.

Yeah, it doesn't make a lot of sense unless there is a standard clause in all contracts that would be something like "left the team, retired" for anybody that walks out during the regular season but all I have ever read is what happens if he misses OTAs and camp.

Has any player ever attended OTAs and camp and then refused to play in the season? Ever?

Probably not..you risk getting hurt...but if he got hurt he is covered then anyway because he wouldn't holdout being hurt and he could do the whole thing next year. However, he did attend OTAs last week and they were only voluntary.

And he is set to make 1M for reporting to camp?
This is getting really awkward now.
We all agree he cannot be traded due to the cap issues, so what would be the next play assuming the above?
