    Pretty much ...

But yesterday this came up in a different forum ... He could hold out because he wants the inevitable trade. He knows the Jets won't cough up anymore money, so why would he want the trade?
He's had it with the ridiculous show esp with the terrible situation at the locker room.

-I hope this is just ESPN fabricating another conspiracy though.

Revis isn't holding out this year because you can't squeeze a stone. The Jets don't have the cap space to do anything about his contract or to trade him so if Revis holds out he's basically going to go back to Aliquippa and sit until that fact dawns on him.

Any situation in which Revis even hints at a holdout is going to get messy and probably finish off the Jets chances for 2012.

Oh enough of him with the holdouts. Big team guy.

I agree. He has to know on his own, or through any advisors he may have, that the Jets just don't have the ability to pay him the funds he'd demand with a holdout.

I think he'll do it next year though.

There is a reason the Jets put in that holdout clause. They've protected themselves from this situation, if Revis holds out his contract is extended and he loses all his leverage. He might want a new contract, but his best option is to play out his contract and hope the idea of him leaving in free agency is enough to scare the Jets into handing him a mega-contract.

I believe its A contract with Mutual protections. I think if he holds out this year or next he would not receive the guaranteed money or all of it and the following he could become a free agent. I don't think its exactly like that , but something similar. I hat pre-Madonna players who hold teams hostage with their demands!

If he holds out, his contract is extended another 3 years I believe.

Handcuff the team salary-wise? Revis is statistically good enough to be paid more than twice the amount given to our #2 CB and still earn his check. If money's a concern at the CB position then get rid of Cro.

Fuck him. Take the stand. Let him sit out. Forever.

Revis needs to understand the basic fact of aging.

He's 26. In the Prime of his career. Sit. Stew, Pass up 11 million dollars.

Draft a Pass rusher, and move Wilson outside.

Wilson and Cro is a pretty good combo, if you can bring heat.

Cro + Wilson, Plus pass rush, > Revis' Ego. Trade him to the Raiders. They gave up a First for Richard Seymour, you could probably get a Ricky Williams deal for 24.

If this prick decides to hold out AGAIN, I would honestly trade him and just fucking cut ties. He is obviously not a team player and only gives a shit that he’s the highest paid corner/defensive player.

If Cleveland offered their 2 firsts and maybe a 2nd or 3rd I would take it in a heart beat if they really thought he was going to hold out.

And as stated above, he really has NO leverage. If he holds out, he loses a shit load of money all for 2 years with whatever it is like 10 mil a year... And then if he wants to hit the open market (which if it looks like he will, I would trade him for whatever they could get) and become the highest paid defensive diva.

I've had enough of Revis. Him and these holdouts, it's enough now. If he doesn't like it, tell him to holdout the next 3 seasons. Seriously.

Instead of traiding him, I'd like to see him sit for the next 3 years. Make him pay for this selfesh act. Not cave in. If he dosent play, we don't have to pay him. Don't give him his way. Most likely we will get draft pics that will turn into nothing like our last couple of years.

I think we are seeing the wheels come off this bus. After a sub par year this year, the big cleanout and rebuild will begin. Starting with the 2 JO's who run this team. Tanny and Ryan. I think this is the start of the end..
