One more historical note I'll throw in--the 1987 Eagles game was the debut of the "Joe must go!" chant from the home crowd, in reference to Joe Walton. It would be two more years before he actually went, but that was the first time we heard it. Joe Klecko and Joe Fields wrote a book titled "Nose to Nose" where they discussed this game and their hatred for Joe Walton. The game was a miserable loss, I believe it was a Saturday afternoon December game.
I remember a game they had vs. the Eagles where they were having their way and then Pennington threw a really bad pick, which turned the whole game around.
I think that was the 2003 game, which Vinny started. Chad had been hurt in pre-season and this game was his first action after the great run we had with him in 2002. Obviously at that point it was his team, but I didn't understand changing QBs in the middle of the game. He needed the extra hour to fully recover? After an 0-4 start we had a good home win with Vinny vs Buffalo, and he hit Santana Moss for a long TD early in the Eagle game to put us up. The we switch to a rusty Chad who, as you said, threw a bad pick with a bad decision, and it's downhill from there. Chad played better as the season went on but that game and move made no sense to me.
Most Eagles fans have absolutely NO faith in Michael Vick vs the Jets....... http://boards.philadelphiaeagles.com/topic/633007-i-bet-vick-has-an-awesome-game-against-the-jets/
It was in 2003, I don't know why he started Vinny and went to Chad(that was the plan all along) but it's not like Vinny was playing great. The long TD to Moss was off a flea flicker which totally fooled Philly and he had a wide open Santana. Chad should have started but I don't think we lost b/c we made a switch in the 2nd qtr.
