    Lol...agreed

Unless they have an inter squad scrimmage...I'm sure they can find a way.

but the Dolphins win out, and the JETS miss the playoffs due to the only 3 big plays of Ted Ginn's career. :shit:

I think the Bengals are a tougher matchup for the Jets than the Colts are in at least one respect. The Bengals for one have a better run defense than Indy. Not too much, but it is there.

We finally agree on something, lol.

The Bengals offense isn't as one dimensional as the Colts, with our #1 Pass defense, in all honesty Peyton doesn't scare me.

The diverse attack that Cincy can throw at us is a whole different animal. Maybe Cincy won't have anything to play for by then only being guaranteed the 4 seed.

Technically, Jets can make it if the Dolphins win out. It requires the Broncos losing to KC in the final week and Ravens losing to the Raiders the final week, Jacksonville losing one and Titans either tied with Broncos/Ravens at 9-7 or otherwise losing one, but it's not out of the question.

Which is exactly why they don't tank a season to get a "better" draft pick....

There aren't any scenarios where this would take place. Basically, even if the Bengals lose and the Pats win and the Ravens lose (so the Bengals lock up the division), there would still be the possibility that the Bengals could catch up to the Pats in the final week. They're tied on conference and common, so it comes down to strength of victory, which won't be determined before week 17. Last I checked, the strength of victory tie breaker at this point is very close, with NE at 44 (wins by teams they defeated) and CIN at 42. Even if everything goes NE's way in week 16, the strength of victory tie breaker is going to be in play in week 17, thus the #3 seed will be up for grabs no matter what come week 17.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd like to see the Jets play a Bengals team that has something to play for. Heck, if everything breaks right, the Jets may be playing the Bengals again as a wild card.

The Bengals are the type of team that wouldn't play hard if they have nothing to play for. I'll imagine they would sit most of their starters or only play them for one drive. If we beat the Colts and things fall our way there is also a good chance we play them in the first round so I doubt they will show us anything anyways.

The Vegas lines shows us as 5 point dogs... They are betting on Manning not playing for the entire game or it would have been a lot higher IMO.

Well, it's a week in advance, but I probably won't be posting here next week, since I'll be on vacation, but it was very interesting watching that Chargers game, and why Cincy lost. Frankly I think their coaching is weaker than SD's at least in that game. Dungy was completely on target in the post game show, saying how Cincy had the wrong pass D alignments on the next to last play of the game, the one that set up the FG. The db's should have been guarding the sidelines and forcing receivers into the middle of the field, which should have been obvious. Dungy went further and showed how Cincy failed to do that.

The reason I mention it is on paper Cincy has an awesome roster. As you say they can throw a varied attack at you. Palmer was hurt last year, and has not yet reached the media's recognition of him in the pantheon, but his arm is as good as anyone's, and he is as game savvy as the best. I was very impressed how he fell on that fumble. That took split second awareness, speed and strength.

I have hardly gotten to see them this year, and with SD winning the game and nine in a row, SD and Indy get all the ink in the AFC right now. I would not be surprised to see Cincy in it, though, and frankly right now am more afraid of them than the Colts.

And then as if that weren't enough the Jets are playing them at home. Poor season ticket holders, the Jets are one team that is worse at home, at least this year.

    You are so short-sighted, Badger.

Don't you realize that if we had just lost to Buffalo in 2005 and Kansas City in 2007, we'd have been in position to draft Reggie Bush AND Darren McFadden?

I'm still pissed about 2006, myself. If we go 1-15, we've got Jamarcus Russell locked up. But nooooooooooo, we have to go and win ten games and get stuck with Darrelle Revis. Ugh.

    A Christmas Wish

    OK, let's see ...

    1. Jets must beat Colts and Bengals --- No Problem
    2. Dolphins must lose to Texans or Steelers. --- Like that's NOT gonna' happen????
    3. Two of three lose: Jaguars, Broncos, Ravens --- That could happen this week ... Jags @ Pats at 1:00 / Broncos @ Eagles at 1:00 / Ravens @ Pitt at 1:00 ... ALL three teams we need to lose are road dogs.

Do you realize what that means???? ... Never mind next week. If the Fish lose to Houston at 1:00, we are likely to take the field at 4:00 ACTUALLY CONTROLLING OUR OWN PLAYOFF DESTINY!

    JUST WIN BABY !!!!!
